In all forums you will always see the majority of responces are negitive thinkers to any policy no mater what government are in people only get what they vote for I wonder who the negetive ones vote for?.Or did they even know how to vote at all.

the only good thing about todays' politicians is they have the "gift of the gab".
when all is done, not many are willing to sacrifice any of their benifits or wages to prove they care about, or even understand what the average person they have been elected to SERVE , have to live with. many of their policies now are more oriented towards other nations, than their own countries

After reading all the comments I think that you need to be very careful who you put into the job next time....Tony Abbot may be a fox in sheeps wool! We are finding that out in Qld with Can Do Campbell who so far has been Can't Do or I've Changed My Mind Campbell. Add to this our Liberal Mayor Tom Tate(Tom Tit) who has collaborated with Can do and pushed more super high rise buildings into an already over crowded Surfers Paradise(not any more!) and wants to destroy our northern beaches with an international cruise ship terminal. Both of these were in his election speeches as being fought against!

I agree with you. Not only are they negative responses they are also quite often strongly critical without any factual basis. It makes me wonder whether these people have any idea what is going on in the rest of the world and how hard most of the politicians work and how genuine they are in their efforts to do the right thing for our country and future generations. I wouldn't be a politician even if I were to be paid an enormous salary. It doesn't matter what the government tries to do there is always ill-founded vitriolic criticism. It amazes me that people are so accepting of the Opposition's continual negative reaction and then the general public continues with that line of thought and it becomes fact. Witness the latest rubbish the Opposition is dishing out on lending money to the IMF. They were so wrong in their opposition to this and have been demonstrated to be wrong but do the general public care - no they just repeat the line that this puts us into debt.

Hispania, please tell me the facts that show this government is doing the right thing because I can than show you the real facts.

The opposition may be saying no, and it appears to you and like socialist supporters that they are negative, but than if you don't agree with something shouldn't you tell them. Maybe you are one of these people that go along with policy decisions and hope that everything works out. The polls tell me that 65% plus of the population believe the opposition are right in their criticism.

hispania You are obviously a green , labor voter along with passum ,well sorry I think you both do not know what you are talking about! I am sure somewhere along the line the government has actually done something good, odds are that it will happen reguardless, but it escapes me at this moment. The negatives far outweigh the positives . Pay rise after payrise and still they are not worth what we pay them! Why are we negative ? Well tell me what has improved the Australian way of life? More ILLEGAL BOAT PEOPLE, GAY marriage discussion, the CARBON TAX, INSULATE your house to name a few! Tell me what is positive PLEESE!

oh dear sounds like a mishap in reading others views passum. my view of every government is....stop behaving like naughty children and focus on creating collaborative teams of people who can and will guide our country forward without racism, greed or any other negative trait. stop copying other countries illwill and get on with it. seriously take note of people who juggle homelife work well women in general we are the backbone of our men like it or not it's time to change and let's not start with julia is a woman and not doing a great job it stands to reason a women is constantly cleaning the mess of others hehehe...

I feel I am just as worthy as anyone politician to run this country and provide positive results regardless of gender, race or creed infact i feel whether you have letters after your name or not, distractions are easily foiled as are time wasted meetings that do little more than upstage others. focus is all it takes look forward to the view of others.

I must corect you passum, we DID NOT vote this cureent government in, in fact they did not get the majority vote in the two party preferred vote. The Independents sold out the rest of us and let Julia Gillard become PM> Truly a sad day for this country. I am not a knocker or winger, but a VERY concerned citizen of this wonderful country that has been used to the gain of a few. There are decisions being made that will affect the people of this country in ways we dont realise yet and the Greens are blackmailing and threatening to get their way. Lord save us all from VERY BAD GOVERNMENT.

Knockers and whingers can't say anthing positive because their is nothing to be positive about. I am a well educated women, and understand politics very well, I am frustrated by liars that tell us what we should think, and be treated like I can not think for myself. What has really upset me is how much less I now will have to pay my bills, eat and live, thanks to federal govt. and state govt. I certainly did not get the govt. I voted for. I am also a self funded retiree, and get absolutley zip from either govts, because we have tried. Not even Cancer will get you any help from our govt, but if you are a boat Refugee come on in and what do you want.

AGREE 100%

Well 19chris51, I agree with the ultimate statement re: boat people, but not totally about the rest of it. For instance they do not lie all the time, it just seems that way. Some of the time they are just full of it!

Oh Smiley you and I are definitely on the same page. My husband I are in a similar position, retired ((self funded) and when my husband got sick before he was old enough to get the benefit of a Health Card we got hurt pretty badly fincially. Now he has his health card and that helps with medication costs but no other help. I get a small allowance because I am his Carer, but what I went through to get a lousey $100 odd per fortnight! You would have thought I was being paid a fortune? Boat people dont have to prove who their granny was or similar proof of who I am, but I did! Politicians are in it for their own gain They promise all kinds of things to make life better for our area/region etc. to get our vote and then once they are in Government something happens to all those promises. As for our now PM she was not voted into Office and since she "tookover" this country has gone down the toilet. The amount of money wasted could have put beds in all our hospitals, exspanded our road systems, housed our homeless and all in all make Australia great. But no, give it all away to foreign countries (who are rich anyway) and to Asylum seekers who get much more than any ordinary Australian and a lot more than they deserve. Gee I am so over the whole thing!

possibly because all govt's are made up from normal humans, and the majority are only doing it cause it's a good look on themselves, and I also think that once they have what they want they really don't care about everyday people

Dear mos and others. All pollitions are mere mortals they try to do their best under extrem pressures so, the end out comes, are not what their ideals always stand for. They realy do care about every day people because these people vote for them. Politicians are very approachable people across all partys i have found if you have a problem they can help with they will through their office starf.
