In the past I have tried anything which came my way -
Macrame, Silk Painting, Glass Painting, Spinning, Weaving, Dyeing my own wool, Paper Making, Beading, Leather work, Applique, Cross Stitch, Chicken Scratch, Iris Folding, Tea Bag Folding, Origami however now I just do paper-crafts.
I teach cardmaking including different folds and techniques and also traditional scrapbooking and the newer project life form of scrapbooking.

I started to get an album together to do the photo set up with all the e xtra bits you can buy, so I guess scrap booking at the moment, I am also doing some cushions with the old needlecraft work of semco, and that is more or less keeping the brain occupied and the eyes and hands working... I used to knit, sew, crochet and do a lot of leatherwork, but found it is very tiring....

Hi, I go all over the shop. Last year I was into cheap scrapbooking. Cutting pictures and words from newspapers and making my own thing. This year I tried coquetting, but I lost my hook and I can't have been that enthused about it, because I did not replace it. But I feel a loss. And now I bought a DS play thingy and still finding my way around that.

I enjoy making cards and doing scrapbooking... it is something I can just put down and pick up with, without having to have lots of other items to use as well. a bit of knitting beanies for the cambodian children also helps me keep the fingers nimble...

Hi Cadbury. Apart from tinkering with some of the crafts already mentioned, like creating custom jewellery and beadwork, I love sewing, creating beautiful clothing from patterns and personalizing them with my own twists, such as belts and fabric flowers sewn from old clothes. Creating something new from something old or broken is a passion. But my favourite activity, and the one i'm known for in my group of friends is scrapbooking. On special occasions, such a a birthday, I create a photo album for them, with unique pages and borders. If I know any mutual friends who attended I get some of the photos they've taken to create the best, most fun pictures. I've even surprised some friends who's parties I was unable to attend with their custom album with pictures downloaded off facebook. I hope everyone likes them as much as I like making them :)

HI - I love knitting baby gear, clothes, dolls, blankets. I give it all away and it feels good.
Anonymous
my crafting varies on how i feel at the time. I do a lot of embroidery using bullion knots on baby clothes, quilting, scrapbooking (which i haven't done much of late), sewing and knitting. For me it is relaxing and a way to feel creative as sometimes i like to start with a piece of material and just let it lead me to make something with it. Its not always successful but i have fun doing it.

i do mainly painting in oils and acrylic. I exhibit at my local art society gallery, in my local library and sometimes in coffee bars. Presently nothing is selling as people do not have extra money for art. My home is like an art gallery just now and my visitors enjoy looking at my paintings.
I also knit a lot for myself and family and for my market stall. At present I am finishing a knitted ballerina doll and a striped cat in pink and cream. I think they will make good Christmas presents.
I also sew summer clothes for myself and make bags and dolls for my market stall.
Sometimes I make earrings and bracelets for presents.

I really recommend crochet as a hobby. Do a Google online and see just how many free patterns and how-to videos are available. I am addicted to making miniature crochet thread animals, about 2 1/2" to 4' high, and they really are so easy to make. Check it out now and find out just how much fun crochet can be.
chips48
I do crochet, and I am present making a baby's blanket for a friend's first grandchild. I particularly love making miniature crocheted thread animals, such as teddy bears, elephants, pigs, etc. And there are even heaps of patterns available online and in books for making crocheted food, and all sorts of other items. We are no longer restricted to making doilies, etc, as in days gone bye, even though I still make them as well, and gloves and scarves, etc. The possibilities are endless, so if you are looking for a new hobby, do a Google for crochet patterns and find out how many free ones you can get online. Soon you'll be hooked, and it really is so simple. There are how-to videos online as well, so you can leaern from scratch without paying anything.

I like to draw, paint for relaxation, assembly crafts. As a child I tried to learn knitting, couldn't crochet like my Mum. I can sew but that's it.
Phoenixarizona
My craft is photography and poetry.
Neither is something that can really be done with the hands like tapestry and cross stitch but a form of art nonetheless. My hands seem to be unable to create what my mind envisions so I gave up on painting and drawing a long time ago.

Hi there, ive been making bags out of recycled wool fadges and baling twine for handles sewing them up with string and sewing pea cock feathers on the fronts. also ive been mucking around with card making

I wish! I certainly admire what others create, but don't seem to have the happy knack myself. I used to be a knitter, but found my fingers were cramping, and the stitches were too tight. A friend does the most beautiful calligraphy, and I'm tempted to give that a go. Does that count as a craft?
kate460
the tapestries i have done have been made into cushions and one is still waiting to be madie into a cushion.. i also have 2 cross-stitched pieces that have been made up into cushions.
kate460

I love sowing tapestries. I did some cross stich but my preference is pettit point. Some of those tapestries I had them framed. They are hung in my home instead of paintings. Some of the tapestries I havent framed as yet, yet those were done while my children were still small.

Spinning, knitting, card making, jewellery, designing/sewing, impulsive creativity (necessity being the mother of invention). At the moment I am knitting for babies in Africa and working on a special scrapbooking project.

I have tried Jewellery, and find it lots of fun. The company I work for support families of children with disabilities and twice per year we have a mums respite weekend, at these weekends we do lots of different things, and usually one of them is a craft theme. Our last camp was making jewellery, and I think most of the mums at camp were there, and some of the creations were absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait till next camp to see what else we are doing.

I enjoy scrappy pictures, scrapbooking, plastic flower wreaths to place around wooden bases for candles, drawing, painting, felt work, basic sewing, basic knitting, basic beading, silk painting. I would love to learn about jewellery making, tie dye, marbling, lead lighting, leather working and anything else I haven't tried... I hope to be learning about wood burning (forgot proper name) in next few months. I am in Qld.

Hi everyone, craft is a great hobby to get into. I am a knitterholic and over many years have dabbled in lots different things. I co-cordinate a craft group and we have a knitting group in our local bakery. At the knitting group we have rules!! no minutes no joining fee just welcome to come and have a coffee for 2hrs on a Monday morning. A quilter brings her hand sewing and many good frienships and support groups have evolved. We have been meeting for over 6yrs.The bakery has changed ownership and the new owners think it is a great idea. Valma

I quilt, make runes and indulge in calligraphy when I can. Creative pastimes are so meditative and relaxing. Time ceases to exiast and you forget about any pains you have ( a lot at my age ).

Before my fingers became useless I knitted, designing own fair-isle patterns and also worked tapestry. Unfortunately those days are passed and I can only look at them. So I now take photographs and use them in designing my own cards.

I am a craft addict. There, I've admitted it. I scrapbook, papercraft, make handmade cards and buttons (the kind you sew on clothes or glue on scrapbook pages), I knit, crochet, silk paint, salt dough, polymer clay, draw, make jewellery, and probably several other things that I have forgotten. Right now I am making my Christmas wrapping paper with brown paper and potato printing :)

My wife has just started making cube puzzles for children. You buy 9x 7cm cubes and find pictures large enough to cover them all. Most charity shops sell large picture books. You find six pictures, and divide the pictures into 9 even squares. then paste one square of each picture onto every block. You end up with the equivalent of 6 pictures depending on how the cubes are put out. You then get the children playing and trying to recreate each picture by arranging the cubes right side up and in correct placement. builds memory and co-ordination skills. Great for Autistic children.

Practically anything I can have a go at. Scrpabooking, toys, knits, etc. I visit a great site called craftbits.com which has lots of free patterns for things to make or do from children learners up to skilled crafters. My latest efforst are painted gourds, I grow them, dry them then use them depending on the type of gourd. I have a bird feeder from a big one, a playhouse with little Xmas people, elves and toys, fully furnished and painted just in time for Xmas. Also have little nest egg gourds I bought the seeds on oztion.com.au at an auction and they have been the most fun of all to decorate and look amazing, just google for pictures of what you can make them look like :-)

I cross stitch. Not as easy as it was as I had cataracts in both eyes and even tho I had them removed, my eyesight is not as good as it might be. Particularly as I do counted cross stitch. But I do find it relaxing.

I see a new craft and want to do it,I start buying stuff for that craft and it waits for me to have time(which never happens!)A friend and I decided to bead as a cheap shop had opened up and we thought it would be an affordable hobby but the cheap stuff sold out and expensive stuff and other craft stuff started taking over so I started going on the net to buy beads-SO ADDICTIVE!!!We used to bead nearly every week for at least one morning but it got longer and longer and now we've beaded about twice in the last year.Other crafts I've had a go at are Longstitch, folk art and making lotions and potions like lip balm and bath salts but I still have mosiac bits and bobs and probably a dozen other craft things.Unfortunately they won't happen for a while because my littliest is only 5 months old(I have 6 children 12 and under) and she is calling out to me RIGHT NOW! BYE!

As an oldie I am selective now as I know how addicted I can get and mainly stick to knitting, crochet and open to felting. We have a knitting group at our local bakery ans we meet each Monday for 2hrs for fun laughter good coffee etc. No rules just turn up and join us. I love to sew (make bags especially), knit a little, cross stitch, scrapbook, hand-sew felt softies too. But due to my short attention span i get bored and impatient after a week or so of doing each task, so i jump between all of the above...
One thing I hate about craft is the assumption that you have to be 'old' to do it - which is so wrong! I get called grandma by my friends... (I'm 21 by the way)
kumar12
I collect stamps and old small cars..

I sew a lot, like, designing clothes and stuff like that. I also do heaps of origami when I have time, and cross stitch. :)

Hi Cadbury, My favourite thing is knitting but after my now ex daughter-in-law never put the knitted things on my grandchildren i lost all heart. I then took up crocheting rugs & have since made rugs of varying sizes for my now 3 grandchildren [as my son found a wonderful lady & they now have a son] & when my great nieces saw one rug i was making asked me if i could make her one - naturally her sister wanted one too. I don't sell them i just do them & when i've had spare then my daughter always seemed to know someone who was having a baby so the stockpile was never too high. I basiclly luv doing the family tree of a day time - it's just so good at keeping my brain working. I've now moved to Grafton [over 1,000 k's north of wher i used to live] & needed to move for my health & "other" reasons but have also re-discovered reading. I am now having a brilliant luv affair with my books - the places these stories can take you are amazing. Enjoy whatever craft you do.
katemyburgh

No I'm in Melbourne, but if you know of any links I would only be to happy to make contact. Usually my spare wool gets turned into knee rugs that I then donate to local charity shop.
cadbury
Good to hear that you are still involved with a variety of crafts. There are plenty of volunteer places that would really love if you could do some sewing for them. They often supply the materials, so do not lose that enjoyment because the grandkids have grown. Are you in Sydney at all
Mazzs1
I love my cross-stitching and am involved in international round robins with it. I also knit, crochet, & make cards I used to use my sewing machine a lot when grandchildren were smaller now it's mainly used for mending.
