I would like to hear the views of everyday people and if they struggle to buy food. I am single (on a pension) and find it difficult. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be for a family of two parents and two kids. I think the big two supermarkets are having a lend of us as consumers. The prices increase daily and some have doubled or tripled. What can be done?

It's simple supply and demand. Demand has increased both for to migration and people expecting bigger houses, while supply continues to lag.

If you want someone to blame, then think about who could have prevented the imbalance but choose to not take the painful required steps.

Demand could have been reduced by discouraging migration, or policies to reduce urban drift have almost all failed. Supply has mostly been tied up in red tape..
