I rarely pass comment on social media or general feedback but have recently been horrified at the vitriol sprayed by people who disagree with someone else’s view. The old adage of “if you can’t say something nice, don’t saying anything at all” seems to have disappeared. On a post a couple of days ago I complimented a woman’s outfit for its colour and material and was told (by a third party) that I had no taste and should keep my mouth shut because I did not know what I was talking about.

You are entitled to your opinion and when positive is great. We can think something, but we don't have to say it, as should have been practiced by the third party you mentioned who was negative. If things like this happen to me online I shrug it off and move on as I don't know the person concerned. Also, I might think something or someone is annoying online but I choose to not comment and move on.
