Local (mum & dad / corner store) type hamburger shops with preference.
Banh Mi whenever possible.
Non-franchise pizza shops tend to be better - more expensive, but usually worth it.

Love the local Fish and Chip & Pizza shops - but must say I have a thing for KFC - yummmmm
