If you're anything like me, you just want to make every day at work as pleasant as possible -- you know how it is: go to work, work hard, have some fun and go home to live your life.

But what do you do if someone in your team is a stereotypical, dyed-in-the-wool Work Psychopath? As I like to call her, Candy Coated Venom -- sweet as pie to anyone who "counts", but manipulates the situation to put everyone else down. My workmate is AAA-rated. She actually gets a gleeful gleam in her eyes as she reduces people to tears.

What would you do if you're essentially bullied and put down, but the client loves the Candy Coated Venom because all they experience is the sweet, smiling, gooey Candy coating.... not the hard centred, toxic .... well, you know what I mean....

Personally, I'm job hunting, but any better advice will be gladly received :)

I have the same problem and first things first
Only people that work can make mistakes, so let her do all the work stress out about everything and wait until she reaches the point of exhaustion and asks for help. That's when "with a big smile say" ,"I'll be right there to give you a hand just let me finish this first". After that, take your long sweet time and make sure that you show up when the problem is already solved. The boss will never notice the difference because she is already sucking up to them and let's face it you can't do any worse, you are already looking for a job. So let her get wind up and you remember to always smile from now on, it will make her want to kill you. At least the energy will shift dramatically....

Good luck
