After years of computer game denial I am sadly drawn nightly to the joys of popping imaginary balloons. Is there any hope for me?

Short bursts on some of the "big fish" games, but they get boring very quickly.

Much easier to lose a day in a spreadsheet.

The games I am drawn to are the hidden object games mostly from Bigfish.....sadly my housework seems to suffer as a result but then again we all need a break now and then from our chores (this is my excuse and I am sticking to it)/ Also I like the occasional game of Solitaire or Hearts

just like sixtyschild I too have become addicted to gardens of time - but I have now learned to just pop in use up the energy I have avaliable and skip out again. The positive thing is that it has encouraged me to do more in my own garden, my latest project being a four metre long raised garden for my vegies.

Being a game addict, i've played well over 100 games, 20 of which would be online games although the only main ones i currently play are WoW, LoL, crystal saga
I often take breaks from games to try out other games ect I find that each game can offer it's own unique play style and different story lines
I one day hope to be part of the community that makes games :D

Gardens Of Time on Facebook..my friend got me hooked and I play it for hours without realising the time! It is great when I have a migraine because i have to focus to find hidden objects, add to my garden, visit neighbours..if you are bored..wow this one is good! not a violent game, friendly game, with lots of activities and fun...I recommend it to anyone of any age that is over 14. the more you play the more neighbours you add the more points, experience etc you get! well worth it. I love it.

Just over a year ago I was looking for some games on line for my niece and came across a site Playrix which had a game 4 Elements. It seemed to have a nice mixture of things suitable for an 11 year old, but I had to test it out first to see if it was suitable. Bad Mistake!!!
The site and another at Bigfish had many games that you could download and test for 1 hour.
So
First
4 Elements a combination of match 3+ , Hidden Object Game (HOG) and Spot the Difference,
http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/3935/4-elements/index.html
then had to look at some others:

Royal Envoy a Time Management (TM) game with cute lovable cartoon characters.
http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/8074/royal-envoy/index.html

then Gardenscapes a straight out HOG
http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/6623/gardenscapes/index.html
Followed quickly by :

Call of Atlantis M3, HOG, Jig Saw Puzzle and a great screensaver.
http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/4450/call-of-atlantis/index.html

Fishdom M3
http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/3554/fishdom-game/index.html

Around the Worls in 80 days M3, HOG, and screensavers.
http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/2758/around-the-world-in-80-days/index.html

And now over a year and 100+ games later I am addicted.

Many of the games can have an episode finished in as littl as 5 minutes , but then there is the "just one more try" to reach a goal which extends the time and bedtime by 1 to 3 hours.
Many others include the Build a Lot series, Farm Frenzy series and many other very entertaining games. At $7 US they are a bargain when you consider the cost of a DVD and its 1-2 hours entertainment value v the games more than 20 hours.

as a household we have many video game addictions, huge fangirls and boys of the nintendo franchises (mario zelda metroid) but recently got sucked into playing dragon age 2 and 60 odd hours later still working on it!!

There are some amazing games around now days, and there are few things as comfortable as a game you played and enjoyed as a kid!

My addiction is Lexulous, an online Scrabble game. My original excuse was that I got to play with my sister in the USA but she's been home for a year now and I still play with her and a lot of other people. I love it because it's so flexible - a game can take a day or weeks, depending on how busy you are. But yes, when I'm heading to bed and my eye falls on the computer, I never fail to sit down to check if I have any more goes to play. Addictive indeed.

My addiction WAS Party-Poker playing with play-money and making and chatting with friends on-line while playing. I was totally surprised that I could make friends with people from around the world and learn about what people like to do where they live. All this while playing a friendly game of poker. Just goes to show You don't have to be lonely if you have a computer and internet. I have learned more this last year than my previous 66 years. I looooove technology and Utube. Cheers to you all.
