Why is that Xmas used to be so exciting (butterflies in the belly type of stuff)?
I still love buying and giving presents to my family and friends......so it's not me being a scrooge!
I still love the food (luckily I no longer have to do the cooking)
BUT where has the excitement gone.....or is it just ME????

I think birthdays are much more important than Christmas. It is a religious occasion, and less people are religious or identify as Christian. People are moving toward a more thoughtful and minimalist lifestyle by choice. Other people cannot afford the luxury of Christmas in the current cost of living crisis. Maybe COVID killed the vibe. There is a lot of waste around unwanted gifts, wrappings, card and food waste at Christmas. You could try to connect with likeminded people.
