Today, algorithms are making more music, writing, and art, but it often feels like a copy lacking real depth. Still, technology is moving fast, and AI gets better every day. Maybe in the future, machines will create just as well as people or even better. Will AI ever be able to share real feelings and make a masterpiece that matches human art?

There is a reason why AI creativity ‘feels like a copy…’. Because that’s what it is, it’s an amalgamation of content created/imagined before by humankind.
AI cannot experience the world like we do.
Humans create because we experience the world.
AI creates because it processes the world.
Humans imagine because we feel.
AI ‘imagines’ only by recombining patterns.
Humans innovate because we have needs.
AI has no needs, only inputs.
Humans make conceptual leaps.
AI makes statistical predictions.
This is why human creativity remains qualitatively different.
Remember it took humans to imagine and create AI.
The intriguing thing about your proposition that ‘Maybe in the future, machines will create just as well as people or even better.’ I don’t know if that will ever be possible, but I’m sure it will take a human to write the algorithm first. I suggest to you that if/when that ever happens, AI will become self-aware. Is that what we want?
