Crumpets

I love my Golden brand crumpets round or square. Have for decades. But I just have to say, that their crumpets these days don't look anything like they used to. They have become so thin and anaemic looking. Where as when hot and toasted, the butter used to melt down through the holes and make the crumpet soft and fluffy. But now, unfortunately, the butter just leaks out through the bottom. It is too thin to hold it. What a shame. Golden, what is going on.?

I find them fine still. I eat them twice a week with margarine and honey. Mias brand are a lot thinner.
The one thing I have found has changed with the golden crumpets is that they aren't consistent in thickness (one side can be thick and the other thin), so that is what I'd like them to address more so.

That's a shame, Marian. I do enjoy some crumpets with maple syrup and berries, it sure is disappointing when our favourite products change and not for the better.
