Home brand vs named brand

Are there brands that you used to buy that are no longer in your local supermarket? What do you think of all these 'home brands'? Are they just as good as the named brands, are they cheaper, or are you still hankering after something in particular that just seems to have disappeared from the shelves? Give us your opinion.

Blossom says: A lot of their products are Australian Made. They are made by manufacturers of big name national companies and on the same machinery. In some cases there may be a different ratio of the ingredients. e.g. A couple I know both worked for a company in Adelaide (in fact I live across the road from their original factory was) that processed and packed dried fruit. One of them was in Quality Control. The generic brands have a different ratio of fruit in them.
