Home brand vs named brand

Are there brands that you used to buy that are no longer in your local supermarket? What do you think of all these 'home brands'? Are they just as good as the named brands, are they cheaper, or are you still hankering after something in particular that just seems to have disappeared from the shelves? Give us your opinion.

Mah says: Home brand is worth due to the price. It is so cheap, most of time they are cheaper than name brand in promotion, that I generally buy them. In my opinion the quality is good, at the same level of the other ones. The only difference is that home brand generally don't have some many varieties, it is just the tradicional type, and in my case, for example, I like to try alternative products sometimes. Therefore, for milk, bread, butter, cereals, pasta and some other kinds I buy homebrand. Eventually, when I want to vary a little bit or when I find something in promotion I try another brand.
