Home brand vs named brand

Are there brands that you used to buy that are no longer in your local supermarket? What do you think of all these 'home brands'? Are they just as good as the named brands, are they cheaper, or are you still hankering after something in particular that just seems to have disappeared from the shelves? Give us your opinion.

emmadave123 says: Well I try to shop for store brand or home brands to try to save money but still get a great quality for our family. When your talking right across the board, there are some home brands that I believe are better than others and I will not buy, for instance I believe Black and Gold are the worse and most expensive of the home brands or store brands. Aldi has great value store brand items which are part of my necessity shop. But then there are store brand items such as Muesli bars at Aldi that are in my mind not very tasty so I will source them from another shop. Coles home brand muesli bars are better than Woolworths. I find that the quality if just as good if not better than some of the brand name items. Such as arnotts shapes, I didn't realise how hard they are as I only buy them on special as I get the Aldi ones, great quality, taste and value for my family. I am a bargain shopper.
