here in the bush we are disadvantaged from quite a lot of things services and providers
so we learn to use the internet
we know do not have a gun field that is legal there is not one of them that is registered for new comers to aquire a gun licence rifles or hand guns
we need to be registered with a club this can be done with quite a lot of difficuilty
even the local police can not recomend a field to purchase the licence
so went to the sydney firearms site and the nearest to armidale is aydney or brisbane
the local supplier of firearms and amunition is of no more help than that of the local police station
although the police station can hand out a phone number for the peper work to aquire a licence but without a field to use it is no use to the consumers
my point is we need people in the bush that can help the younger person to get the licences they require and this includes building industry as to fire the nail gun you need a special licence and no one can supply the people within the country area
thank you for reading the facts

I feel sorry for the genuine members of Shooting Clubs. It seems like lots of people judge sporting shooters as "Rednecks" and violent. I personally do not shoot and have no wish to,but my husband has been a shooter for over 60 years since a very young boy. He is one of the kindest, most helpful and hardworking men you would ever meet. People like him have legal firearms, unlike most of the criminals who are involved in all these drive by shootings we are hearing about now. Some of the general public assume that all the illegal weapons are being stolen from sporting shooters but I think you'll find that most Sporting shooters are very responsible and follow all the regulations to keep their guns in safes and their ammunition separately in another safe. Thankfully the Police are more understanding of sporting shooters and treat them accordingly. I just wish the Anti Gun Lobby would be a bit more rational as making gun ownership illegal will never stop criminals getting weapons.

shooters will end up with a new verirty of gun as they release the new age weapons so the long term impact ststed
at the same time the new age of technology shooters have to adapt a way of helping all shooters young and old for a place to shoot as we will end up running out of live targets
UNLESS WE STSRT TO SHOOT CRIMINALS haha
i agree we should lock up all weapons with great caution
and the local ploice ststion in tyhew country is still of little help for country shooters
why are they so helpful in the city for gun owners

The 'shoot requirement' is a nuisance. Imagine if the same rule applied to owning and using golf clubs.
One option for people who just shoot occasionally and want to retain a firearm for that infrequent use, is to get a 'collectors license.' There are some quite suitable and useful firearms in the 'collectible' category. Must of course join an Historical Arms Society. Think about it.

if the government keeps on going the gun owners will have getting trouble getting the shots for the firearms
so why have an old firearm if the law is against all having one of them
but its still a good idea to join the collectors society

You should be able to get a branch listing from SSAA, or a list of clubs from Pistol Australia, both have web sites

I agree and understand where you are coming from. My husband and i are are members of a club with both pistols and rifles. ( which you need to be now to own these)
We moved into the country and have found it difficult to gain and find farmers to allow us to shoot on their properties.
But still need to shoot pistols 6 times a year. So instead of trying to fit into another club that is closer (still 100 kms away) we prefer to travel to our friendly club which is close to 400 kms away) Being a female and going into gun shops is very intidating in a males sport and some are very unhelpfull.
I suggest finding a friendly club and getting on their good side. They are a wealth of info and more helpful than any posh top notch dealer.

thanks for the reply the answer comformes what others have said to me not long ago
as for the females in gun shops a shooters card can put most males to shame
aspecially if they use large firearms
thank you
