I am a 70 yr old male, who loves blues guitar and, while not playing to a very high standard, would like to find others with a similar interest.Playing & practising on my own gets a bit boring.I live South of Sydney & am flexible as to time & place. If there is anyone out there who is interested I would love to hear from you.

Have a look through this site: http://www.guitarbackingtrack.com/
Theres some really cool stuff that you can play along to. It really helps to develop skills.
Having a band to play along to too is something to keep motivated.

I know Gary Moore & Joe Satriani,I like both their music but maybe a little bit too difficult for me to aspire to.What I like most is to jam with my teacher, who has become a friend as well.He shows me licks, some stuff I pick up from youtube (rockongoodpeople),but as I said,1/2 h a week of jamming is not enough.Santana is somebody I can play, not the real fast solos of course, but I particularly like 'Love is You'

Oh no no, definitely not a pro. I practice for hours and hours daily and have been playing for 8-9 years but no definitely not pro.
May I suggest if you need a little motivation to listen to Surfing With The Alien - Joe Satriani. Every time I listen to that album it motivates me more and more.
Gary Moore is also a very big influence on me. You should give him a listen. Sadly we've just lost him.
Anyway keep at it!
