I have a friend in San Francisco who collects these, and has a huge variety which have taken over a room of his small flat. Ironically, he's a vegetarian. I think he feels he is restoring the karmic balance.

Hello my new dear virtual friends! I would like to excuse myself for being away for a while but maybe u all know- we had a devastating new earthquake here in Christchurch, New Zealand and for that reason we ( our family ) had big troubles and had no internet connection for long days. It was very bad and we almost had no chances to be in contact with anybody, including our families in Europe and South Africa... Anyway-I am back and thanks God, we all r ok now. Thanks for ur interest in the discussion and I hope all of u will be in touch in future too. Best regards
Magy

Last days we found some dark brown leaves on our Venus...and we just pulled them out. Now, obviously the plant feels better, because we see some of the other parts of it r growing much intensive :) Last 2 weeks it was eating only 2 flies and now we will leave it outside again...just in case there is some "deserts" flying around :)

the dark or dying leaves are normal I cut them off , sometimes when they eat the energy it takes to do it makes it die off too but if it does new shoots will replace it G
PS dont let it dry out when it's outside in the sun.

Hi G :) Thanks for ur respond! On line we also found tons of info about that amazing plant, we saw many types...and all this news makes us more interested in having fun with this strange creation than ever :) Last days we on purpose left our Venus outside and I saw that most of her " mouths" r wide opened but there is no even a single bug or a fly in it. So, because inside of the house we have pretty lots of this flying "food" I just did catch one and did "feed" it. :) And also-our VFT will have some new babies too :) Mamma mia :) Will be really hard to provide all this bugs soon ;) Have fun! Talk soon
