My cockateel has laid her first egg. She's trying to figure out this hatching thing and I think perhaps I won't be a granny again too soon. My little Lucy looks so gorgeous with her tiny face peeping out of the nesting box. Awwww. Her partner Dezi is moping around like he's lost a bet. Gotta love em.

That is so cool, your lucky my cockatiel's eggs have never hatched, they look so sad every time it breaks my heart especially when the budgies have baby after baby. :-(

It is sad. I'm told that cockatiels are difficult to breed, but that doesn't dampen my desire to see little grandbirdies emerge. I'm thinking perhaps I need to change the bedding in their nesting box. I love my little Dezi & Lucy. They're such sweet little babies and it would be nice to see what kind of mix pops out. Maybe one day.

the agg wont hatch unless it has a male mate...............sorry thought she didn't have a partner...............the eggs wont hatch unless the 2 birds work together........usually takes several egg laying experiences..........some birds are proffessionals .............mostly useless especiallyf young birds
