Oh yes I love country music.........in fact I love all music genres from opera to rap. I was brought up on jazz, being the youngest of 4 kids in the 50's. I note that people here like all the well-known American country singers as I do, and what about our John Williamson, Troy Casser-Daly etc? It's so true that a lot of modern music stems from the everyday life, simple, beautiful, poetical, down-to-earth roots of country music and hopefully more will be written now and in the future.

Hello, Yes I enjoy country music. I played and sang in a band for many years doing all forms of country from Slim to american line dance songs. The country music crowd also seem very friendly.

I listen to just about every genre of music. As for country, I particularly like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson (fav). The women? Dolly Parton and the sexy Faith Hill.

I love alternative and old country. I hate how people are so negative about country music and never give it a chance. If they only realised that half the music they listen to nowadays started off and was an influence from folk and country music.

hi you country music lovers.. I am a retired drummer, having played all sorts of music decided to go to Texas to find out what coutry music is all about. The first nite there my wife and i went to a bar called the WHITE ELEPHANT Saloon, { we lived in Fort Worth } There was a 7 piece band playing which blew our minds, the Bar was packed the beer was ice cold and Bourbon was served in Jars for $1,50. Every body was in country clothes with white hats, The reason for saying this is to agree with all who said country is hot hot hot. Do your selves a favour if you can get to Fort Worth Texas don your cowboy hat and step in to another world.

There are a few classics of the genre that any music lover should at least know about and respect - but on the whole this is not music that appeals to me at all.

It's like literature really - no genre deserves to be entirely dismissed; but you can admire Lord of the Rings and Gormenghast as literature without having to be a fan of the fantasy genre in general. And not liking the fantasy genre doesn't give you license to dismiss the greater of the works within it.

Hi Jade, I agree with you completely, love Rascal Flats and Toby Keith, Dixie Chicks. At the moment I am listening to Billy Currington, especially "If I fall... will you let me down easy."

Yes, I love country music but the old ones. Despite coming from a non-western country I grew up with country music - Hank Williams, WIllie, Cash, Dolly, Don Williams (my favourite)

Now the country music has a pop twang to it - :(
