Obama has not lost respect with me, even though we don't get to see too much of what his policies are doing, however part of the problem is with Australia, a few weeks ago one of the TV channels announced that Julia Gillard was honoured to be asked to visit America. What's this honoured bit, we appear to believe that we are second class. Let's stop kow towing down to America and the UK and get our self respect back.

it is either this or he is not impressed by the broadcasts that went through to his people in there home land tongue
it all lookked bad for the local authorities and dont even think about talking about the british
as they went out of there way to police the country like cowards
even in the temples
i believe he was very time consumed before deciding australians are the most rude and none impresive people he could have visited
and nearly one of the poorest countries we are in double debt to every one what could we ever offer his people

An interesting view debell. I will say with confidence the many media articles I have read confirm people within the USA and around the world support Obama.

Your views may change after watching a Mike Moore documentary Capitalism:A love story based around the demise of the economic downfall the world was subject to, it is very clear leaders in and outside of the White House prior to Obama's election have not been made accountable for their actions. President Ombama like many including our own Prime Minister perform in roles assuming power and prestige to lead it's country. The complexities involved derive from the previous government in power and in this country alone there are many.

Back to the Mike Moore documentary that confronted real issues workers faced as President Bush campaigned his scare monger tactics on the Amerikan people. A well rehearsed plot to force the world into an economic crisis.

Very high powered people from banks, ceo's, insurance companies, wall st, treasurers, government treasury departments, goverment administrators, all the way to the top! Many had financial interest in every corporation and shared luxurious lifestyles while others lost their livelihoods.

Citigroup who boasted of ordering a $50million private jet for the use of its top executives,
Goldman Sachs played a major role in pushing for deregulating the financial industry as taxpayers paid his wall st insiders as well as some high powered white house officials including bush. Sachs set aside $6.8bil for nonuess in 2008 and accepted $10bil in TARP funds from taxpayers.
Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, P&G MER shared ownership processes large numbers of mortages in Flint Michigan (a small town already a ghostown)saving $1billion in the past decade. Even the Secretary of the Treasury and the Federal Treasurer earned ginormous profit from worker's earnings as they foreclosed homes as well as had their mortgages paid off under the Bush government VIP treatement.

In summary, when Ronald Regan and those who followed with great deliberation frauded the Amerika people and the world, increased bankruptcies cost of healthcare rose as did laying off tens of thousands of workers, at the same time the stock market rose GM was posting profits of over $4billion

Reagans administration corporation made ginormous profits and halved the tax of the wealthy! Reagan also opposed workers rights, and feminist movement based on an amendment for equal rights to women in 2008. CEO appointments increased as did their salaries even though in Franklin D Roosevelts era he was caling for a second bill of rights that provided equality for all regardless of race or gender. Sadly the bill did not pass due his death hence the ongoing destruction of basic rights for people within the USA.

There was small successes for a small town of people who were given 2 days notice without severance pay or any entitlements. The people pulled together with support from their local police forces to win entitlements their case. The compensation sought was small change in comparison to the billions of dollars gained by defraud.

In 2009 a County Seriff stoped performing foreclosure sales until an agreement was reached with homeowners to provide adequate opportunities to avoid foreclosure. Through federal assistance.
A family evicted from the home they owned for 22yrs moved back in as squatters the bank withdraw further action and turned the title over to a non profit group.

If we look at how our country has been run in the past 20 years I am ashamed to have been born here even though I am not an aboriginal land owner I respect this country and it's rightful people who to this day are forced to leave their land and forced to live as western people a far cry from the assume lucky country with layback attitude people assume Australia represents.

I hope I see in my lifetime a world of peace and harmony one where racism is non existent, greed becomes non existent, equality and a life of simplicity living off the land becomes second nature. Only then will the need for Mother Nature to resolve the harm we humans have created and lives will not be lost!

I believe the current Australian Govt hates America and what it stands for.
Obama, a new kid on the block, like Kevin Rudd, has been catapulted into
a position when the world was being crippled by recession. We can be very
harsh critics on our politicians when the chips are down.
Obama was elected by the americans hoping for a way out of the chaos
including the wars in Iraq and Afganistan. He is the leader of a super power, where as Australia is a very small dot on the world map. Lets
face it, would you like visit a country which has knifed its prime minister
in the back. Gave the job to Julia who is out of her league when it comes to
running the country.

I respect your opinion but I disagree. He didn't lose my respect and I definitely don't think he is scared or ignorant. He is running a country in chaos. He doesn't need to visit us to say hello. His meeting with our Prime Minister was not a life or death meeting. There were many more important things to do for him. We could actually be concentrating on whether our own Prime Minister has lost respect in Australia...could she be ignorant?
