hubby uses old vitamin bottles to store nuts and bolts. me, safety pins, tooth picks, bobby pins and hair ties and odd bits and pieces. bigger lidded plastic containers such as stewed fruit are used for storing paint pens, tins are good for pencils. any plastic trays or lids are great for kids paint pallets. biscuit and chocolate tins are good for hiding chocolates and lollies from the kids ;) . we also use an old chocolate tin to store the cake decorating paraphernalia.
