Only thing I can really say about the camera on the mobile phone is that it has come in handy on so many occasions where I have been caught without a camera to record special events. At least I have some sort of record then and not having to heavily rely on asking people for their photos.

i find real cameras better, not digital, but a digital camera will do in a pinch

Last night I went to a friend's surprise birthday party and while camera's were taking photos, I was using my mobile phone camera and you can't go wrong with taking photos with these things, they're awesome.

I find that they have the use but have a major problem with lighting.

How many people are really happy with their mobile phone that actually have a decent SLR digital camera.

I agree. I find it very convenient to use my phone camera. I now use it far more than my digital camera.

Mobile phone cameras are only good in full light. The lenses are too small for any serious photography and totally useless in low light. A budget digital camera leaves the camera on a mobile phone for dead.Problem is many people do not know how to get their photos off the mobile phone which makes them less appealing as a serious photographic device as well. For me, get a real camera and dump using the camera on the phone. You get so much better pictures if you do

I love the one i've had in the last 2 phones i've had - certainly doesn't beat a real camera but handy if you've forgotten it. I've got a nokia n900 and had a nokia n95 which both has 5mp camera - there are some others that have 10 or 12mp cameras....brilliant!

I agree. It is so handy as you always have it with you for that on the spur,grab- it moment. As I see it, it is not meant to replace the real camera surely, which is for entirely different usage and occasions

My mobile phone camera certainly came in handy taking photos of an automobile accident. The guy tried to lie about the details. ;) gotcha!
