Did anyone get up in the early morning and watch Michael Jackson's memorial? I didn't but it was shown at lunchtime today and it was just so moving. I have to hand it to Brooke Shields, I loved her speech for M.J. Brooke explained exactly what he was like in person. Saddest moment would be when Paris spoke of her love for her father. Everyone has their views on M.J. Did he, didn't he? For me he was just an entertainer and a great one at that.

I saw some of it which was sad. He was such a talented performer and such a waste of his life dying so young.

The world is a better place now that this pervert has passed on. There will be a lot less molested children now that he is gone, and his music was overproduced rubbish.

I know I'm so late to with this post, only new here but yes, I did see Michael's memorial! It was at 3am or something like that. I really wanted to but didn't want to disturb the household that early so I originally thought I should watch the highlights later that day. I'm glad I watched it, I love and miss him so much. I couldn't sleep and I woke up at around 2.40am and knew it would be a once a lifetime to say that I watched his memorial live! I sat through the whole thing and some parts were so sad. It was great seeing his friends speak and Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder performing. I thought Reverend Al Sharpton said one of the greatest speeches I've ever heard about Michael. Of course, Paris' speech let the world know that not only her dad was the greatest entertainer, but he was a father, a lovely one. RIP Michael Jackson...I Love You.

Michael Jackson did have it all maybe he was so much of a perfectionist to be kind to himself no one really knows what another is dealing with Media should think before they print Michaels family need to stop blaming and remember their loved one

chrissyGirl. Amazing? He certainly was weird and totally crazy by all accounts. But to say you LOVE him???? eeeeew no thanks! He was a real showman and none of his fans really knew him did they? It was all show and no substance. He was an overindulged, self centred clown. I know I am opening a hornet's nest here but folks so glibly say how much the adored him.... no they didn't. That is not LOVE that is idolatry and that is a whole new kettle of fish. Let the man go and let his music live on they were two separate entities.

I had no friends growing up. His music was my childhood. It's still my life, really. I have so many happy memories revolving around my brother and I singing and dancing to his music. I'll always be thankful for that.

What's the big deal about Michael Jackson, he may never have lived to a ripe old age and had a great upbringing, but neither do thousands of others world wide. He was a brilliant entertainer and showman and his life is interesting, but as a human being he was lacking in my eyes. I and many others will continue to enjoy what he gave to the world in his entertaining life, but there is no way I will go out of my way to watch some show that interferes with my life or glorify what his life represented, he was no Hero in my eyes, the people I served with in the Forces and those before me are the hero's I will remain faithful to during my life time. We have to stop considering, footy players and film stars as heros, they get paid heaps of money and have great lifestyles, the real hero's are those that put their lives on the line for you, the residents of this great country. Service men and women, police, ambulance, and firemen/women, they are the true heros's.

You have just taken the words right out of my mouth. He was without doubt a great entertainer, but definately not a hero, or a role model!

Who said anything about MJ being a Hero? Even I wouldn't say that about him or any footy players or film stars. My dad fought in World War II and yes they are the heroes of course and others that put their lives on the line. That's a thread that you could bring up, but it's not warranted here.

He was a very exciting and inspiring entertainer. His death was such a waste and his life gave so much to the world. I hated all the controversy over his involvement with children & could imagine the anguish and grief it caused him. I didn't believe the charges. Knockers can be so cruel!!!
