What I loved about the 1st one was the atmosphere - it was so creepy and weird.
The 2nd one was just another typical zmobie flick, but only this time it was 'glossier'. I didn't care for it as much as the 1st one, so 2.5/5.

5 - Loved it. I was completely enthralled in it - I watched it 2 nights ago, and I am still not turning off all the lights yet :)

I whole-heartedly enjoyed both films. Yes there was more action and special effects in the second film but that is usually to be expected of sequels. They need to up the ante somewhat or risk simply being a tired imitation of the original film. With that considered I think 28 Weeks later was a well made and exciting movie with some interesting political commentaries on issues such as US peacekeeping forces and the fact that they can often do more damage than good. It is obvious that the film was made during these days of the occupation of Iraq and the 'war on terror'. The movie is well worth checking out. 4.5/5.

First one, was a little ripper. Quality moive, action, effects and a half decent story. What more can you ask for. The second, well much of the same, a little dissapointed, but I certainly didn't leave the cinema.....

Loved the original, didn't love the follow up quite as much but did still enjoy it. I love the whole idea of society being wiped out and having to start over. There are several films that seem to deal with this (Children of Men coming to mind first) and they all seem to love the washed out look (faded colour) and to use the British countryside!

I would rate it probably a 4 - it kept me interested until the end.

I've seen parts of the film 28 Days Later, but i would much prefer 28 Weeks Later. With its graphics and Cast more interesting. It was an excellent story line, and i enjoyed the mysterious ending. Keeps you thinking!!

Haven't seen it yet but we mostly wait until movies are released on DVD because we have our own movies right at home on the Plazma why waste $15 bucks per person unless you go to tight ass Tuesdays to see a film/movie just in case you don't really like it? Plus you can see three movies together for that price for both myself and my partner in the very comfort of our own home. Pause it when you want replay the best bits etc etc. We love watching movies it is cheap entertainment and it seems like it is the only way to save is to stay home with a good flick.

I really enjoyed the preliminary movie '28 Days Later' but haven't seen the sequel - though with Rose Byrne's talent i'm sure it's even better.

saw 28 days later and thought it was overated...extremely overated. I found it slow and boring, however ive been told that 28 weeks later is alot scarier, can anyone affirm this? Would not reccomend 28 days later to anyone at all...however it seems a few people in this forum enjoyed so i guess each to their own.

Shame you're not a fan of 28 days later, but as you say, each to their own. When it was released in 2003 it was very different to anything else that was coming out, and opened the "Zombie" movie doors. I reckon you'd have enjoyed it more when it was released than watching it after seeing some of the other zombie films out there.

I personally found 28 days scarier than 28 weeks, I suppose because I'd already seen the first one. It was the "raw" "jilted" camera work that won me over.

I wonder if it was because of the "hype" that let a lot of people down. Unfortunately, hard as it is to get around, hearing and reading reviews of films will often affect the way we feel about a film once we see it.

28 Days later was the better of the two.
28 Weeks was good but didn't match the original.
If you klike Zombies check out "Shaun of the Dead". This has created a whole new genre of horror movie.

Well wasn't overly excited about 28 days later, it was a bit boring....prefer a comedy.

Well there was ten people in the cinema when it started and only two left when it finished so there are ten more that couldn't stand it.

Fair enough. Come on then, how about your favourite film of 2006.

the worst movie of 2006, can believe I actually sat through the entire movie at the cinema, only good part was laughing my head off when the helicopter chopped up the zombies.

Ah well Andy - you win some you lose some. Good job there's a variety out there so there's something for everyone. I think you're the first person I've heard over the years who didn't like it. And as for "worst movie of 2006" - Wow! That's some shout. I'd love to know what you'd class as your fabourite film of 2006.

By the way, 28 Days Later came out in 2003

Being that 28 Weeks Later didn't carry over any cast from 28 Days Later - it doesn't give anything away in terms of who survives from the first one - so I'd say you could still enjoy it. It's very unlikely to hit you in the same way now that you've watched the second, but still worth hiring on DVD.

Got a free pass to see "28 Weeks" but haven't managed to get there yet - maybe this weekend!

28 Weeks Later was a good follow up film to 28 Days Later. Probably a 3 or 3.5/5. The ending let it down tho a little. It set itself up for a 3rd in the series with its ending.

Yeah I agree - the film left things quite obviously with another sequel to follow. I'll still watch it but maybe it'll be a DVD next time round...

i liked 28 days later but i thought 28 weeks later was a bit of a mistake, the ending was horrible just everyone runs out of a tunnel, hooray ahah. I think the plan was to make another one after, 28 years later whole world has the virus... sigh id prolly give it a 3/5 (good explosions in england)

The idea of a zombie being something to actually fear, rather than not worry too much about because you've got 5 minutes to reload and fire another 8 shots away towards the dead thing walking towrads you 6 metres away was great i thought. However having said that I was not a big fan of the first and will wait for the dvd release before I watch the second

I saw the original and really enjoyed it. I haven't seen the second one. I'm always skeptical when it comes to sequels, but I have heard good reviews of 28 Days Later and plan on seeing it.

After seeing the first one I looked forward to seeing this one - special effects were better and the street scenes of London were great - story line carried on from the first even if anybody had not seen the first one and would have been able to understand the story - Days Later left it open for a sequel, not sure if Weeks Later in Paris has done this, I think it could be done - rating would be 4/5

Have seen 28 Weeks Later. Loved 28 Days later and thought it would be hard to top. Sequel was pretty good though, I'd give it 3.5 but I'm harsh and its not like we haven't done this revisting zombie world thing well before; see Romero's Living Dead series of movies. Fortunately though, they deal with the subject matter quite differently. Loved the treatment of contagion and rage in the 28 movies (both of them). I quite like Rose Byrne as an actor too.

Haven't seen the new film yet but was impressed by the first so am hoping it will be of similar quality (unlike many sequels !)

Slightly off track but worth mentioning is that I have seen a t-shirt site (UK based) which sells a lot of funny slogan shirts now has a "28 Pints Later" shirt out !

I'e seen the debut film and the latest one and well. Its amazing how such a basic genre of film, the zombie romp, can be brought to life in so many different ways. There is always a clever writer who can turn a simple concept into a inviting movie. 4/5

I guess the next one will be called 28 Months Later, but seriously not a bad little franchise of movies going better than the Hostel series , which aren't too bad.

28 Days Later was fantastic. A cult film even.
The sequel was a major disappointment! Sure it had much of the same stuff of the first one, but that had all been done in the first one. A massive killing fest is great to wet the appetite of any horror/gore fan, but it did get very repetitive as it went on. Perhaps a little more involvement with the plot, and a more cheerful ending would help it push through to the barriers the first one broke.

I dunno 28 weeks later is just another tipical zombie movie. These days there isn't much difference between any of them, all the director is trying to do is create a great blood fest, which he did by the way but as i said they are all the same. If those two kids were mine i would have killed the little bastards before thgey could release the virus back into the world, but how funny was it when the guy just left his wife to get eaten.

I agree, I thought 28 Days Later was a brilliant film. Very different to what was coming out at the time. 28 Weeks Later carried on well, although I was surprised none of the original cast were in it - I wonder why? But it was very well cast all the same.

Saw the original and didnt mind it, The idea of Zombies running rather than staggering around was a good concept. As for the second one, pretty much more of the same really. Some good special effects (especially the bombing of the streets) but nothing much to get excited about . 3/5
