My Son does not talk he is 18months. Is there any way of getting him to talk

He's too young to worry about it yet. Also I found if you encourage them to use 'their words' when they want something it helps. That and the removal of a dummy if he has one.

I wouldn't worry too much, especially if he is babbling, my partner didn't start speaking till he was 4 he was brought up in a bilingual environment and they think he was confused on the language he should use.

Definitely go to your local doctor and get him assessed, it may be nothing but better to get things looked at and then you can get whatever help he may need....

I would say at 18 months that he is probably still too young to be concerned about it - unless he makes no sounds? My 2nd son didn't speak much until he was probably two and half - and now he talks all day long!

Hey,
When you say dosent talk do you mean he is mute totally or still babbling like a younger baby?
At 18 months with either I would be seeing a GP for a pediatrician referral as it could be from many things, hearing, brain not 'clicking' in that area, mouth issues making it hard.
Hope you get some answers
