The story line behind the story is good but I believe it is giving people the wrong idea about the actual culture behind BDSM

Hi MaggieMay, I too have read these amazing books & what amazes me most is the insane way people won't "step out of the box" & at least read these stories & you do have to read all three to GET the story. I luvved that there was yet another better story hidden in there but once you read them you discovered gold. My daughter gave them to me [with trepidation as she was unsure how her 60 year old mother would go with these - well hello i did have a life prior to becoming "Mummy"]. No i say to anyone & everyone - put your prudeness away & read these bloody good books - afterall they are not dirty but different & i too have read them multi times - as you do when it's a good story.

What part of the books did you find appealing? If it was the BDSM aspect you could probably find more BDSM romances on the website Blushing Books (though do read the story descriptions before choosing something as there are a diverse range of lifestyles represented in them some which might not appeal to you). If you liked the story independent from the BDSM aspect then I have no advice. I will say though, please do not interpret Fifty Shades of Gray as an accurate representation of the BDSM community. Most members of the BDSM community are divided between finding the books hilarious due to their inaccuracies and finding them highly offensive due to the way they misrepresent the community.

I have read a small portion of this book. It's written like a 5 year old,

big fan of the first book, mostly skimmed the 2nd and 3rd, as they were either fighting, having their lives threatened, or having sex....disappointed in the ending im afraid.
Have read some Amazing BDSM fan fiction online though, check out ROYAL ACADEMY OF BARDS online, and read thru the UBER section, you wont be disappointed. :)

I have also read the trilogy. Love it. Haven't really loved a book in years. I did feel the need to read some parts in private.

I'm also a big fan of these books and am curious to see what the movie is going to be like... I have also read a book similar to these called "The Secret Lives of Emma". I've only read the first of the series, but I found it's not as good as Fifty Shades of Grey, in my opinion.

What do you feel about the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the trilogy? Is it a good idea or a mistake?

From the very small parts I have read, the producers would have to cut a lot out wouldn't they?

Unfortunately I have read these books, not my usual thing but was coaxed into reading them by my girlfriends and as you say the producers will have to cut out a lot of stuff. I believe that this...

I complete agree. I really enjoyed the books besides from all the really dirty content. but to change the story line so it can be a film is not a good idea in my opinion. I think someones just trying to get on to the money train.

I believe that this movie adaption/glorified porno is a gigantic mistake. Mainly because most of the stuff that is too disgusting to film relates to the supposed storyline. Hence if it is all cut out because it's too indecent they're going to need to rework the storyline so that non-readers of the series still understand Mr Grey and his issues. Because the trilogy has such a huge fan base many women, I'm sure, would be upset if anything were to change too dramatically. But the simple truth of it is that it is too indecent to be turned into a film in its current state.

Hi MaggieMay. I haven't read these books yet but I am really looking forward to reading them soon. Ijust finished reading the Twilight Books. I'm not usually into Vampire type stories but I really enjoyed them. Sounds like you loved the Fifty shades of Grey books. I hope I enjoy them as much as you.
