Does anyone here believe Live animal export should be stopped. The RSPCA has uncovered animal abuse in Indonesia, Turkey and the middle east. The Government voted today, but Live animal Export is going to Continue.

Yes it should be stopped. My uncle who use to work on the sheep ships says it not only stresses the animals but it is barbaric what happens on some of the ships. He worked on a ship that went from Fremantle WA to Iran and the voyage takes awhile. The animals were fed and watered and the pens were cleaned but a few died along the way and were taken and thrown into the ocean. My uncle was in a high position but he couldn't do a thing. When they got to Iran the animals were all jittery and he never told me anymore and I really didn't want to know.
The Government should take a closer look at this live export practice.

It's not alright for this sort of stuff to happen. The exports aren't paradise for the animals, they are starved, dehydrated, and sometimes even beaten. It just should NOT happen

;have noticed that as far as goverment and bussiness is concerned money is more inportant to those who (are or be) have no concern about animals, land or even humans.

Unfortunately Live Animal Export won't be stopped. There's far too much money involved.

But at least steps must be taken to strictly monitor and control the treatment of the animals.

I don't accept the claim that Halal slaughtering means that animals cannot be stunned before slaughtering.
That's just a convenient statement, along the lines of the Japanese killing whales for scientific research. Hog shit!

I think that Foreign Governments sould monitor the way that the animals are put down is in a humane fashion and not like the countries mentioned treat some of their their own citizens. To stop it entirely is only going to be detrimental to the farmers in Australia.

I think we should send some politicians for the same boat ride and treatment the animals get and put their journey on tv

I certainly believe Australia should not be exporting live animals anywhere, the video I saw of the cattle being slaughtered in Indonesia made me shake with horror & the sheep in the Middle East strung up on hooks by one leg upside down struggling. Animals suffer all the time for humans to make money. I think the Australians who allowed the Indonesia horror to happen & it still is should be prosecuted.

Thanks Eugenie, I am actively supporting this cause by sending petitions to the government and letters to our Prime Minister. I also join all the protest marches. I just hope we finally get through...

If you agree it should be stopped, then go to the RSPCA website and sign their petition, the more support they get, the better. The Government will have to give in to pressure from us the people, who will be the voice of all the animals

Help Caféstudy members by responding to their questions, or ask your own in Café Chat, and you will get the chance of earning extra rewards. Caféstudy will match these and donate equally to our two chosen Australian charities.
