Hey KC, i exercise quiet alot i have had experience in army and soon leading into the police force and 3 hours is abit excessive in my opinion.

About 3-4 Days is a good amount per week and it really all depends on how high ur intensity is during these workouts.

If Your intensity is low-mild such as walking on a treadmill about an hour and half is perfect, when u raise to high intensity about 30minutes is all you need.

Think of it like this, from 1-10 fitness, 10being athlete. Say you are a 5, if you run the same everyday, everytime same intensity you always stay a 5, if you run with high intensity pushing yourself out of the comfort zone you only need 20minutes and you'll see improvements, from 5 to 10!:)

Although this is all based on good dieting also :)

As long as you are not feeling any ill effects or injuries 3 hours a day is great. I do approx 1.5-2 hrs a day. I would do more but until my little ones are in school full time it's ok for now. I have a cross trainer, exercise bike, treadmill and stepper at home. I don't go to the gym because it's easier with my children to do it at home. So many say you should do this or do that but I feel as long as you are eating well ,sleeping well and are not exhausting yourself and as far as you know are in good health, I think it's great that you have the motivation to do 3 hours a day.

I think it is a personal issue. Some people dont seem to need to exercise much at all to stay fit & healthy

Think of exercise like a bell curve for your health, too little is harmful but too much can be harmful too - it puts a strain on your body, depletes the body's nutrients and increases your risk of injury. If you are eating enough to provide your body with enough nutrients to maintain a healthy weight as well as enough energy to burn off during 3 hours of exercise, then this is OK. If you are really in to hard core workouts, get advice from a dietitian or nutritionist to make sure your body isn't suffering in other ways.

Dont get hooked on too much exercise. I have seen the effects of that on some people and they have ended up anorexic due completely to overexercising and not taking in enough nutrients to keep their body healthy. Diet and exercise together are the real deal for keeping fit and at a good weight

You don't really need to exercise more than an hour a day, and with a day off a week. If you're doing it to try and lose weight however, you need to look at your diet as weight loss is 80% nutrition and 20% exercise. All the exercise in the world isn't going to help you if you don't eat right.

Exercise should only last 1 hours but that depend if your over weight or not and the age you are but for me I am working out which doesn't take more than 2 hours which helps because i do alots in that 1 hours at the home gym which is great.

If you're not getting any ill effects it's not too much. We seem to be getting awfully nervous about doing the wrong thing these days...

I try to walk for 30 - 45 mins a day - I try to go to Qi gong on Monday nights - pilates on Tuesday nights - I do a little Yoga after My walks for stretching - all of which helps to clear the mind, I think You know in Your heart when You are over doing it - just listen to Your body and if You feel You need to take a day off the exercising then take a day off.
