I always try Home Brands, because I want to save money being a Pensioner, BUT if I do not think they are up to the normal brands that I buy I give them the flick. It is not much use saving money if you ddo not like the product.
As a rule I find the Home Brands are really excellent, there are a few exceptions, such as Home brand Instant Coffee, "FORGET IT, i THINK IT IS HORRIBLE. The Home Brand Spaghetti and Baked Beans have less of the solids and so much more of the fluids., SO NO GO. There are still plenty of other ones that are good. Such as Sugar. Sugar is sugar and cannot be altered, The flours are also good. and many other items. the only way to know is to try. BUT keep an eye on the prices as in some cases the Home Brand is more expensive than the branded product.
