I enjoy Traveling also. My biggest Passion. Been though parts of Europe on a Guided Tour, Been to Jamaica, San Antonio, Texas [San Antoni Spurs]. New Orleans. { New Orleans Saints],, Fiji, many times. Luv the Architecture of the Buildings, The Fine Detail on all Historic Buildings. I like to try their Traditional Dishes.

I havn't travelled overseas for years, but when I did, it was to New Zealand,. What i was aware of mostly, was the fact that everyone was so friendly and helpful.
The traveller seems to invite truthfulness in the people you meet. Maybe its that there is not much time to get to know anyone, and because of that you and the people you meet tend to get down to basics.
It is a special 'subculture' and it is partly this that is so addictive about travelling, either at home or abroad.

Travel is great to experience the different cultures, foods and meet new people but there is certainly no where like home.
I always find it amusing when travelling to another country seeing the sights and experiencing the food how many travellers want their own foods and end up in the local mcdonalds!

The reason why some People go to Macca's while Holidaying, as you say, so convenient or a Snack, but to see what it tastes like in a different Country. Maybe, couldn't be bothered waiting & trying a Traditional Dish but grab something that is quick & easy, on the go.. I luv trying different Foods from the Countries I've visited. Some, I have disliked but others, hhhmmm...spicy ...... Seems strange, but a few times, you always come across an Aussie somewhere in your travels no matter where you go.

I know what you mean about how people always seem to want to flock to McDonald's or places that are like at home. Having said that, a friend of mine went to the Phillipines & loved the fact that instead of chips, they got rice at Macca's! So, it's not always quite the same in other countries. In Israel it's called "Kosher McDonald's". I didn't go, but I wanted to to see the differences. Instead I ended up trying Israeli food, had sushi & African food!
Sometimes you just want to taste something that reminds you of home though. When I was in South Korea, I badly was craving meat, like a nice juicy steak, so I went to an Australian designed resturant, owned by Americans with staff that were South Koreans!
