Talk-back radio - do we need it?

I can see a need for talk-back,as it provides mostly uneducated, bigoted, right wing xenophobes with a forum, which is their democratic right. It makes them feel important, gives them an outlet and the opportunity to fawn over their favorite shock-jock. Personally,I would not waste my time,as I wouldn't expect to be afforded a fair hearing,as no opposition to the predominately One Nation type views are tolerated & face the cut-off immediately a dissenting view is voiced.

I only started to listen to talk back radio 3aw Neil Mitchell when black saturday happened. He kept me up to date where the firers were as i had friends and family in some of the town that were affected,he did a great job in letting his listeners know what was happening as i could not contact a few of the people by phone . I still listen to him each day now ,he often gets to the bottom of things that you and i can't and he has also helped so many people with all different things .

Talkback radio must be doing something right. They are by far the most popular stations. Whoever listens to boring ABC or TripleJ (Junk Junk Junk: are they still there?)

it amazes me that someone in the organisational network think the shock jocks add value to their ' product' and are willing to actually pay them for the crap their dish out.. go triple j

just turn them off if they are so bias in their views, 2gb is a good example to turn off with its morning presenters
these 2gb shock jocks should try to go into politics but they will not as they cant mouth off like they do
oh thats right the early morning presenter tried to but didnt get selected

Alan Jones never lets the facts get in the way of a good right-wing rant.I don't listen to these bigots myself, but every now and then I see a report in a newspaper about their latest outbursts

Somehow I have faith in the fact that most people who tune in have, shall we say,not long for this world.
