It's funny how I see a "trend" in tattoos, my husband had the Asian symbols done years ago & now I see more "tribal" designs & don't forget your "children's" names... And "religious" symbols... I liked it more when there were less trends & purely individual & personal

Well fear not, as i, like a few i assume don't go in for the over tribal or religion designs (personally i am not into those) but it is still more or less a personal thing.

I love tattoos, and designing them. I designed my first ever tattoo and have been wanting to design more since and am planning on getting many more tattoos that I design.

I love it! I absolutely adore the way a tattoo or piercing looks and feels. I myself have a few piercing and one tattoo. My tattoo means so much to me, I can't ever imagine myself without it! It's placed on my right firearm and it's a rose with cultural designs and another little rosebud coming off the fully grown one. In this one little tattoo I have all of my family and I absolutely love it. I also have my septum pierced a.k.a bull nose piercing. Whenever I smile I feel it touch the top of my lip and it just makes me smile wider. People think I'm a complete weirdo/idiot for having it but I really don't care. I like it. I like it a lot.

if you want a tattoo then get a tattoo. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks

I think that many tattoos are the call of our ancestors, asking us to create a link to the clan. Totems can still be relevant today.

I love tattoos. I currently have 6 of them. Four of them are for family representation. Instead of having my children's names tattooed - I had a picture of their nicknames done. My eldest is a tiger, second oldest is turtle, my daughter is a fairy princess and my youngest is a cheeky monkey. I am yet to get the cheeky moneky done. I also have my husband's name tattooed on my shoulder. on the other shoulder I have a tribal ram's head which is significant of my star sign and finally I have a large cross in the middle of my back. The cross is not because I am christian, but because I believe that there was a man in history who spoke his mind and was willing to die on a cross for something that he truly believed in.

i do love tattoos but i defanitely only get them if there is a story behind it or if its something that really means the world to me. a tattoo is permanent and i believe you should only get it if your 100% sure you will love it forever :) xx

I love body art ! To me, it is just another form of expression and is also a great topic starter. I designed my tattoo which I got the tattoist to place at the back of my neck. My tattoo represents my three older children and now I need to add another three for the same reason. I would love to get a Maori designed tattoo somewhere to show off my heritage, though I would need to go back home to have someone do one representing my family line or tribes. This is an AWESOME topic. Thank you ; )

i have two tatoos with ver deep meanings,i have a maori design - 'ta moko' on my lower back which resembles my parents, grandparents and siblings..also i have a butterfly on my arm which resembles my sister who has unfortunately past, she loved butterflies.. i love how tattoo's can mean more the just 'ink' on your body.. i want more..=)

I've always wanted a tattoo, but the things I'm passionate about are very generic things, therefore it's difficult to come up with original design ideas that are both attractive and will still look good on me when I age. For example, music has gotten me through some very depressing times in my life, but all my design ideas for a music themed tattoo are very cliche.

I think as long as the tattoo has a meaning to the person and is tasteful and not just following a trend. I have a tattoo that is a symbol of my dad which I gesigned myself and has hugh meaning to only me and I know that no-one else in the world will have. It's not obvious in it's placement or design and I can pick and choose when to display it. It all comes down to the person themselves though, I can still apprecitae a beautiful piece of art up someones arm. It's not for me but can still be amazing.

Never wanted a tattoo, ever, but find it quietly exciting to check out tats on various men. Overdone (too many) and I loose interest. But tats on upper arms, back and chest really zooms my blood pressure. Cannot quite feel good about tats on women, and I have seen many and friends have them and all I can think is that they will regret it. I hope they don't as they wanted them so badly.

My Tattoo work started 18 years ago, and i have a fine collection of Ink Art, from a full back job, half chest, i have a big tribal that goes from my ankle to my upper thigh.. all which i designed myself.. I became proudly adored in Ink before it became mainstream, so i was quite the spectacle.. I'm glad those who follow my path are no longer looked upon as 'bad, rough, a bikie chick' .. as i know i was none of these things..

i've got twelve, working on number 13 i'd started a thread in ere sorta simillar to this one ltl pink, as for meanings most of my tat's are made up by me or off the wall manly dragon style or something different like the one of my late pet dog, i loved him as part of the family so i had his name and his birth date an the date we "lost" him forever tattoo'd on my arm. some work needs fixing due to bad work being done in the first place but the rest is cool

I've always been facinated with tattoos & the stories or reasoning behind why people have them done. I believe that if a person's going 2 get a tattoo they need 2 find something that's important 2 them & that they want 2 have in thier old age. If yoiu haven't the ability 2 design a tat then you need 2 find a tattooist that is good enough 2 design a unique personal tat that you will be happy with. bring in as many pictures of what you want & be sure 2 be vocal & as detailed with what you want if you want tha tattoist 2 design your perfect tat. To all those wanting full back, sleeve, leg or chest, make sure that you have considered every aspect of your design, make sure your theme is continuous throughout & that you're 100% on you final placing & colouring. 4 portraits of pets or people look around @ as many tattooist who specialise in portrait tattooing. You'll need 2 bring in as many pictures of the person or pet from every angle 4 the tattooist 2 be able 2 do the best possible portrait that captures the person/pet in question. hope this helps those out there who are considering getting ink & that your tat is what you expect.

I love tattoos and have wanted to get one to represent each of kids, I just can't get past the idea of someone sitting there for hours having a needle constantly going in and out of their skin. Yeah I am a wuss that way.

I love body art, but if your going to get it inked on yourself you have to really want it and realize its there forever. Each tattoo I have, I wanted for over a year before I actually got them done to be very sure it was what I wanted.

Hi there, I wouldn't say I love it, but do understand there is meaning behind most creations. I am actually thinking of getting a tattoo around my ankle with a paw design because I am such a dog person :o)))

Thanxs for the tip still thinking but having two kids, a hubby and a cute grandson want to have something that represents them cos there my life so far and what I love.

I think the knowledge of what the tatoo is about is more important than the image.Even if no one else can see the relavance of the image you will always know the meaning
