My daughter & her hubby put on their baby shower yesterday, my son in law is a chef and cooked for 10 hours to prepare the food! It was wonderful, the girls played a few games for entertainment then there was lots of eating chating and drinking punch with and without alcohol then the presents were opened and guests were thanked & pictures taken. Does anyone else celebrate with a baby shower & how do you entertain your guests and what do you think of them if you don't??

I've been to plenty in the last five years all much the same nibbly food and lots of wacky baby games. Very fun way to celerbrate the beginning of new life. We had a water ballon game at one of my baby showers and it was a day to remember the girls had to run from one bucket to another with a water ballon between the knees all while trying not to break to waters... lol I could of went into labour that day with all the laughing. It was alot of fun.

My friends had a baby shower for me, and I've thrown quite a few for my g/friends. I must admit it's not really my thing, but with everyone having such busy lives these days we found it a great time (ie. excuse) for all the girls to just catch up (sans men), have a few laughs & coo over the mum-to-be a little. I have never entertained with games (don't really know any). I guess I hoped the time & effort spent on decorating & catering (and cleaning up!) was more than enough :-))

My sister had a massive babyshower (girls only) where the hubby was aloud to get out with his mates for the day!
She had light finger food and mocktails complete, and everyone filled a basket that was in the middle of the coffee table with their gifts. It was beautiful.
The games where hilarious, one they did was fill different nappies with different types of chocolate and guess which brand it was, HILARIOUS!!!

Hi Laura-Anne11, Sounds very much like how my daughters baby shower went! They played that chocolate in the nappy game. There was plenty of laughter from the front room as they played these games, mean time great grandma & grandma(me) were cleaning up. I loved being apart of it!!
