Sorry I do not have an image to put up but last Sunday morning on ABC TV they were talking about pictures that had made the papers earlier in the week
The two MEN took out a couple of photographs of our Prime Minister and her tour around meeting President Obama and other Heads of State and also Mrs Clinton.
They made a number of observations, a main one was "maybe our Prime Minister should have at least a stylist". they then showed the photo I think many people are talking about her in her dark suit, with the 3 buttons in the centre and her white blouse poking through the gap between her trouser waistband and her lowest jacket button
It looked for all the world that she had a fat stomach. Then they showed her with Mrs Clinton, I thinks she had the same suit or something similar and Mrs Clinton had that gold suit on. The comments made, " they could do with Trinny ( sorry I just cannot remember their names) The two women who came out from UK and showed people how to make the best of themselves". It just struck me she must be viewed in poor light when two men where picking about her clothes sense.
She is after all our Prime Minister, she may not be worried normally about clothes but she has to thinks she is representing our Country.
What better way to show the World what our designers can do, sending her out dfressed to be "Head of State"?

I agree with frilly firstly Ms.Gilliard needs some deportment guidelines and the
speech element needs addressing. The "womens weekly" did a very good job
of styling for her shape also her hair I thought. But hey were talking about our
prime minister head of state representing our country how about a designer
like "Carla Zampatti" thats the sort of elegance we want from Julia! I wonder
if anyone has approached that sort of classy designer, maybe to advertise
her classic garments? "the magician"

I think Ms Gillard should have a a stylist after all she is the PM, our 1st Ambassador. Her hair has been terrible and she has her own live in hairdresser. Well, I would sack him! During the Brisbane floods she looked a mess. She should take a leaf out of our Governor General who looks great every time. When the GG met the flood victims she looked immaculate but not overdressed. When the GG met our troupes in the Middle East, she made a flack jacket look like a designer jacket.

I agree that our PM should dress better and take notice of her style and also her communication. Maybe she could get some tips from our Qld Premier in both.

I totally agree, she is sending out a message to other nations saying that "we have no sense of style". I would love to be able to wear designer clothing for FREE, I mean ..if it is for free why not? And also on the subject of Julia Gillard, her voice tends to annoy me..

I saw her Parliament today, she looked as if she had new clothes on. It was a very similar style but looked a size bigger it was not as tight on her.
I would imagine the Gov. Gen. would receive their allowance from the British Gov. I do not know but as they are the Queens Representative in Australia that would make sense.
Back to the PM. there are so many well put together in the house. Look at julie Bishop. She looks beautiful almost all the time. I am sure there must be people who would give their eye teeth to be known as dressing the PM unless they do not see her as a willing participant
She says she sees nothing wrong with the way she speaks. There is not a man there who when they have risen up they smarten up. Look at Paul Keating he was joshed because he had Italian suits. He was very smart.
Jo Hockey, he is a very big man but he is never ever anything but well put together.
Perhaps we should leave her. If she wanted help, you would think her partner being a hairdresser would know how to get it for her..beinmg a woman she will be examined , it always happens. It just was started with an ABC program on a Sunday morning. 2 women and 2 men talking about her \clothes and hair. None were impressed. That is where I picked it up.

Have you thought it might not be meant as criticism ? Most politicians are groomed when they reach the level she has done. It could help her, she now meets people who hold the highest positions in the World. Surely feeling her best knowing she can hold her head and position with anyone can only help the woman?
She knows people are saying things about her dress actually naming garments she wears, a particular white shirt for instance? That was a group of magazine editors. She looked really beautiful when she did those photos for the Weekly. Why can't we have the "top woman in the country" look like a well groomed woman?
That is all I suggested

I get why our prime minister should look nice as she is representing our country, but it isnt fair that people are going around and picking her to peoces. Who really cares what she wear. Wouldnt we prefer if she spent more time doing her job, then looking her absolute best. And chances are if she was to get a stylist, we would end up paying for that. People in our country, and even around the world, should stop critizing our politicions.

I do agree with you, she must be either refusing help or no one is offering to help her. It is always noticeable with the men. When they arrive in a position that puts them so pointedly into the eyes of the Public, they suddenly become more polished.
I am sure she could look far more attractive if she had that heavy hair lifted from around her face. We do not want a glamour star but she must be so full of her own confidence if she is happy to meet other heads of Nations from all around the world looking as dowdy as she does.
She once said about her hair, "the redder the better". At times though it looks so badly coloured. She also has said she sees nothing wrong with the way she speaks. She did look good for the Weekly spread.

I wish she would go to elocution lessons (speech therapy to speak better).

I agree she doesn't speak well or present well publicly. She reminds me of 'Kath and Kim' and every time I see her I keep thinking of the phrase "look at me, look at me'! She does love the public limelight and media attention!

I truly do not think the men where just pulling here apart it is a serious ABC program and it was made with the best intentions. She is our Head of State and she is smarter than she used to be. There have been many women quoting about that 2 button jacket with the white blouse gaping at her middle. None of us can afford to have such accidents when we are in the full face of the public.
She should be looking at our Aussie designers. I am sure there would be quite a number happy to dress her and she would feel more comfortable moving in the company she is. I am surprised" her man"has not suggested it to her because as a hairdresser he must be conscious of fashion.
On TV the other day they were very unflattering about Mrs Obama, usually she gets good press with the way she works her clothes.
She was very unfortunate to be photographed from the rear going up the steps to the white house. She was accompanied by the wife of the French President and one of the European princesses.
It was so unkind, they looked like tiny children dressed up in their mothers clothes. They were dressed in the typical European style of tight tight skirts, with very beautifully fitted jackets, hats and clutch puses under their arms.
She is a big lady and very wide hips, looks beautiful in the right clothes. This day she had fullish skirts on, you could see the hems of her petticoats because she was bending slightly forward speaking to the Presidents wife. It was cruel and ugly but I bet the photographer received good money for it.
These women live in a cruel world and unfortunately they are judged by their clothes not like the man, you can see it with the Royal family and all around. If they are in the Public eye they have to have their best face on
and look good from almost every angle. You need a stylist at the very least.
There was talk when she first was announced as Prime Minister that maybe she should have a clothing allowance. I reckon she would get her clothes free if she needed help. Alex Perry is good with people with figure faults.

Nice to know that others have noticed the lack of style of leader shows. Definitely needs someone to help her look her best. Take a look at other world leaders (or partners) and you will note they for the most part, appear to be dressed to suit - that is, to accentuate the positive - eliminate the negative (as the old song goes). C'mon Ms Gillard, do yourself and all Aussies a favour, get a stylist - it will do you good!

Perhaps the designers will give her clothes to wear and show off their designs. Though I think it a bit rich that men should be waffling on about her dress sense, I do not hear them pulling Tony Abbot to pieces.
I agree she is representing our country
but where is the fair go that is supposed to be one of our better traits. Give the woman a chance.

I don`t think Ms Gillard is a very snappy dresser, she does not appear to dress for her body shape, and looks very hippy in most clothes, nothing wrong with hippy, but her clothes seem to emphersize them, need to have a make over Julia
