I have a weight problem and when I try on swimwear I have to have the best quality material and swimwear from around $150-$180 where the cheaper materials don't last for me. My swimwear last for around 3 years which is good for the price.

There are some cheaper options for larger sizes here (with chlorine resistant fabric):

i needed large costumes and only every bought KMart as the most flattering. I now swim for exercise have lost heaps of weight and needed new costumes.
I know from constant swimming that the pool you swim at determines the lifetime of your costume!
Heated pools can have strong chlorine and destroyed a new costume in 3 months once. I never went back to that swim centre.
You can buy chlorine swim suits from Nova and they work well but they are not flattering for the figure!
Just another warning if you use a warm spa this can also destroy your costume. I actually take an old costume to use with spas so as to look after the newer costume as the chemicals there are not good for your costume.
Cheers and happy swimming. I have had people with pretty good figures say they would no longer wear a costume. I love the water TOO MUCH so my answer is love your body no matter the shape enjoy life enjoy the water!

Theres a few brands that do really good weight/ materninty swimwear ranging around $100. Might save you a few dollars

i also have a weight problem and am very very self concious about this :( when it came time to go on a holiday of a life time (i had no bathers) mum decided to take me and find some swimwear i could feel comfortable in!
so off we went to the store tried on soooo many felt disgusting!!!
3 hours later we walk out of the store with 2 sets and minus almost $400!

I am in the same boat and I purchased two swimwear costumes from Best and Less at a reasonable price. They will last a long time if you look after them and wash them after use and hang in the shade to dry.

Ts14+ does great swimwear for larger women - up to size 22. However they don't last in chlorine. Speedo does cossies up to size 20 in chlorine-resistant material that look good.

Some times it depends on sea or pool water. Even if you hand wash they last longer.
