We are currently trying to conceive a girl after having two beautiful little boys (now almost 3 and just turned 1) and I have read all the usual stuff about timing and what to eat, but what I would really like is personal experience and ideas. So if you think you might know something that might work for us, please let me know.
The other thing is that we don't fall pregnant very easily (2 and a half years for the first one!) so we are not sure how much time to waste mucking around with timing. What are your thoughts?

Me again, I made the original post and now about a year later would like to report that we now have a 3 month old little girl. We must have conceived within a month of me making the post! So what do I think worked? Well we had sex I think very close to the day of ovulation but later that morning I began to get really sick. I ended up with a fever for 3 days often up around 40 degrees. So either it was the high temps or maybe the sickness pushed ovulation back but something worked. Not something that I want to replicate again and I was terrified when I found out I was pregnant because high temps in early pregnancy can cause major development problems. But thankfully she seems fine, a little small but hitting milestones well ahead of schedule. So my own advice, maybe a really hot bath and sex a few days before ovulation.

Hi i tried for a girl after having a boy and was lucky enough to get one, i read the book "how to choose the sex of your baby" by Dr Shettles very interesting reading tells you the things to watch for and different way to try i did the timing method 3-4 days before ovulation and also used ovulation sticks worked great for me now my sister has borrowed my book and is trying Gud Luck

I had a girl after 3 boys. My advice would be do some serious medical research and don't listen to old wives tales. Some people suggest diet plays a part with the father eating less meat and that's something that worked for us I think. We also did the timing thing according to male sperm swim faster or whatever it is. I didn't do any of the other stuff though, perhaps we just got lucky. Although I would have been equally happy with a boy and I think that's the most important stuff.

There is a way that works.

If you want a girl the woman shouldnt orgasm,

whereas if you want a boy both (male and female) orgasm.

Hope this helps as its helped a few couples out and they were happy with the results.

Hi all.. Just got my very angelic first baby (boy) two weeks ago. We are just loving our time with him.
Not sure what works for having girls, however, try to look for Chinese conception calender. It gives you the clue of the gender of baby, if conceive in the particular month corresponds with mother's current age. So follow the table, select your age, and look for appropriate months for conception to increase your chances to get a baby girl. - Not sure about the logical reasoning behind this.

I did find the calender only when I was already 5 months pregnant with our first baby boy. But when I looked at the month we conceived with my age at the time of conception, it did return a baby boy.

we too have had too boys and are hoping for a girl. i think of all the theories timing is the one that makes the most sense to me. currenlty 11 weeks so to early to tell, but fingers crossed ts worked. although now that i am preg again, i don't mind wither way i am thinking that 3 boys would be just as lovely. i think maybe the girl thing is uncharted waters and i feel more comfortable with the boys cause i have done i twice, still would really love the ultrasound to say pink this time.

I always wanted 3 boys but ended up with three girls,I learned too late the way to do it.
Douche with Vinegar and water for a girl at the time of conception ie before hanky panky
Douche with Bi-carb and water for a boy
Acid secretions kill male sperm and alkaline solutions kill female..so I've been told.
