NBN ..what choice do we have?

So we now have to get NBN....Why is this being forced on us? I have heard so many stories where people who have NBN are so disillusioned with it because the 'really fast' speeds they were expecting just haven't materialized and in some cases are even slower !. Added to that there is the extra cost ...a cost that we don't need or want with the cost of living skyrocketing. If the government wants NBN then they should have to pay for any new equipment required!

The NBN is actually better than the horror stories you read about.
You need to do some research for what "provider" to sign upto.
Don't get conned into signing upto a 24 month contract with one of the big "names". The new way of doing things is to pay month by month.
I recommend Aussie Broadband, as they have committed to supplying the bandwidth that you are paying for, they do this by stopping to sell new connections when a suburb hits 80% until they can upgrade the "pipe". And they are 100% Australian based call centres.

I've heard many NBN horror stories but I was fortunate enough to be one of the lucky ones. Nbn has been a blessing in our area. Our speed is so much better and there are no more drop outs. Originally if there was more than one person using the internet, it was nearly impossible to do anything with it. Or we would go for days with out internet, it was terrible.

We don't have NBN yet and I keep hearing conflicting stories on it...some say iut's so much faster, then others tell me it's slower and there is an extra cost..so I really don't know what to think about it. I am glad it is working well for you ..just hope it's the same when we have to get it ..probably next year

I have had the little grey box on my wall for several months now.
I am happy enough with ADSL and haven't been approached to change to NBN (yet).
There are so many stories of woeful experiences, I have resolved to put off the inevitable as long as I can.

I've gone completely wireless, i found in my area adsl2 slow and unreliable and still no nbn (capital city too) going wireless i find i have better speed and reliability and spend less on my internet
