When oh when are these blasted reality shows going to end. I do like Australia's Got Talent, but even the judges for that show are acting for the cameras unfortunately.

Love reality shows but yes I too cant stand it when its obvious they are putting it on for the camera or reading a script. I rather they act like they aren't acting lol.

Hey, hey, hey, The Olympics have finished and there is a slight possibility of some good films coming, BUT we are still not getting any variety shows are we?? I still want to see ALL the reality shows disappear into the atmosphere, never to be seen again.

Hey bigfoot... Even a reality show about a grumpy old 76 year old that couldn't find anything decent on tv and other dramas he faced and won would interest me lol. I find they take me away from my reality which at times can get stressful and to see the crap others go thru makes me feel a bit better about my dramas.

Hi elljay, You love Reality shows, unfortunately too many people do, that is what makes them so popular. Maybe I am just a grumpy old 76 year old but please bring back some variety type shows soon, I probably haven't got too many years left in me to watch something half decent lol.

Unfortunately they're all staged, some/all contestants have lines scripted but still gets an big audience for My kitchen Rules, MKR, The Block etc. I've rarely watch them unless channel flicking when nothing else is on that timeslot. I am guilty of never missing an episode of Survivor, lol. :P Love that show! :)

Totally agree. Almost all these Reality shows are the Pits. Why don't the Channels make more drama and comedies, we have wonderful talent in this country but the commercial channels insist on showing all these woeful American sitcoms. The ABC and SBS have some great series using Australian Talent. 7Two shows a lot of repeated British series which are good but they have been shown so many times it becomes boring. No wonder all our talent feels that they have to go overseas to work.

Too many reality shows, i don't watch any as they are all putting on a show for the cameras. Plus it is really annoying when they always run late, especially so if you are recording the following show.

I don't mind the talent shows on TV and maybe the Cooking and Reno series, but all these other silly series like this latest one with the kissing is the pits. How many times can we sit and watch a young man or woman kissing strangers and then judging them and before this we had the couples switching partners... The mind boggles as to where the channels are going to go next. Wouldn't it be a good idea if the TV executives got back to basics and gave some real entertainment like we used to have. Good Variety shows, Dramas and comedies using our great Aussie actors and performers. Maybe then we wouldn't lose so many to the USA and UK.

You could be right, definitely worth a try. I know a lot of people who are sick of the reality shows and have the same frustrations that we have.

Hi Helen40, I don't think it would be very difficult to organise. Just put a date, say 1st April on Facebook and ask everyone not to watch channel 9 or 7 or whomever. I vote to pick the one with the most reality shows, what do you think??
helen40
As you say, frustrating. Boycotting an offending channel on a particular day is a good idea, might be difficult to organise though.

Running late, too true Helen40, and it is like that on almost every channel except ABC. It's absolutely painful after taping a show (Even putting extra time on the end) to find that the last 5 minutes are missing. I am told that channel 9 started it by trying to get one jump ahead of the opposition--who knows?? but it is frustrating to say the least. Maybe we and others should all agree to not watch a particular offending channel on an agreed day??
