Home brands are fine - but check where the good are from. Packed here & grown here is not the same.

I buy from Aldi it is Australian owned for the majority of foods and I save anywhere up to $40 per fortnight on my food. Even the meat is very reasonably priced and the fruit and vegs are the lowest prices than the other Supermarkets.

I buy from Aldi as well and am shocked at the savings. I think their meat, especially chicken is as good if not better than named Supermarkets. My motto is to try something once and if its good then buy it again, if its not up to your liking then dont buy again.

Home brand is great for people that struggle to afford food. It also dosent taste terrible. Bonus! And it can save you money. :) so what if they are factory seconds. Still good.

if you think about it, where does all the 'left overs' go ? from the company's whom make the expensive items :o it's likely it's mixed in with the home brands mix's :o

yes thats very true. Being conscious of what you're eating/buying is just as important as WHO you're buying it from, and homebrands can be somewhat sketchy :/
