a lot of people lie in online dating profiles, and during initial chatting. Be aware of this when you talk with people. Many, many people are genuine as well. Online line dating is no different than meeting someone in a nightclub or other social meeting place, although the anonymity given by hiding behind a keyboard seems to give people a license to behave badly which they may not do in person. From my perspective it is only the introduction and cannot give you the same insight into someone's character that you get when you talk in person. Meet with those you feel might be suitable for you, but meet in a public place where there are other people around. I have met some great people on dating sites, also some unsuitable people. Speed dating is also a great way to meet with many people within a short time.

I had experienced in it some were good and some was bad. If you going meet someone from online take a friend or family member with you. Just don't go yourself.
but be careful cause they can lie.
