I'm extremely involved in the animal and pet community and was curious to find out what everyones thoughts were on "dangerous breeds". What the media show and the council and also what they don't show, share stories and experiences and views!

We do need a body to over view Pet Owners. In the Uk l believe that new owners are interview and to the point of an inspection of there home before being considered. Only dogs that bites without good reason should not be allowed to remain in the public. Many people have dogs for security and l am one of them. But l love my pets to death they are family. I would never allow a situation where any one could hurt my pets so they would bite. Jenni

Any dog can be dangerous if they are trained incorrectly or not trained. There should be mandatory training for all dog owners.

We happen to have a beautiful dog which has been named a dangerous breed I wouldnt part with her for anything. She is not dangerous. She is protective, but we have 3 cats a bird and a lizard, she tries to play with all of them.If a dog is brought up properly it will not turn vicious. It is the way you train it.

I believe the same, there are only dangerous, bad owners not dogs, We have had lots of different breeds of dogs in our 52 years of marriage and have two Rottweilers at the moment, we have has Dobermans, German Shepherds, Red Healer, and not one dog was a "dangerous" dog. Had Pedigree and Non Pedigree dogs, dogs living 12 years and older from puppies to rescue dogs, dogs are great companions ans we treat them as part of our family. Our kids were 3 months old when we got our first German Shepherd. And we never have had any problems.
