I think living in surround by Ocean and having hardly 25 million population, majority of immigrants, still an issue of drugs is unstoppable. I think the drug chain seems easily connected with higher authority allowances and back door permit. Laws enforce does not seem to have stop drugs by an intension. For ex. Country like India surround by multiple boarders of China Nepal Pakistan shreelanka Bangladesh and having huge population of the world having strict control of drugs. Better we learn from Indian police.

I totally agree. However the police need to go after the big guys the suppliers not the ones using. As without the suppliers it will make life easier for others to kick the habit

Millions of dollars are wasted in the war against drugs, money which could be more usefully distributed to providing treatment for those who are addicted. My rather limited research on the subject shows that the ban has resulted from American prejudice dating from when they banned alcohol. That only assisted to growth of organised crime and that is what the war on drugs is doing also.

Drugs will destroy your mind especially maj (can't spell it) or weed as they call it as I used know someone who had it for 40 years and it changed their outlook on life and made them paranoid etc. It effects probably most people in the end but it takes many years I think for it to happen.

I would support Says observation regarding the link between drug use and mental health problems. I have worked as a volunteer with people with mental health issues. The link is so recognised that part of the therapy for a significant number of people with mental health issues includes drug counselling.

I believe that the only way the level of drug will be reduce in Australia is by recruiting more police to work 24/7 in environments suspected of drug. If this is not done our youth will grow up doing the wrong things in life. And this will destroy the future of these young people in this beautiful country.
