I suffer from MCTD, (mixed connective tissue disorder), and I was wondering how many other people out there also have this condition? Until I was diagnosed with it, I had never heard of it and knew nothing about it at all. My other problem is I also have diabetes type 2, so it restricts some of the medications I can be given as some will upset the diabetes. Are there other people out there with this disease and what effects does it have on them, both physically and mentally?

I have never heard of this complaint. Is it rare, and what are the symptoms ? Maybe other people have it and it hasn't been diagnosed either not at all or somebody has it and it has been diagnosed as something else.

at first some of the symptoms were a bit like Glandular Fever, which I had previously had, but when tested it was not active. However they found my anti-body levels were out of balance, and it took a couple of months of testing to finally narrow it down. In some ways it can be a little like Chronic Fatigue but a little different. Also arthritis can become a problem as it can be incorporated in the disorder. Lupus is another disease that can also be incorporated in it as well. Some days I feel great and then other days it is a struggle to get out of bed in the morning. It took a bit of trial and error to find the correct medication to help stabilize the condition, but in my case it was made a bit harder due to the fact I am diabetic and some of the medications can upset that. Look at the web address I put up and it will give you the best possible info that is available online.

The best way to find out more about it is go http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/mixed-connective-tissue-disease/basics/definition/con-20026515. It gives a total break down of the disease in a simple everyday way.
