Enbarrassing Moments

Have you had embarrassing moments? I have certainly had my share particularly when I was young. One I can recall is being caught up a tree with my uniform tucked in my knickers at my all girls school by the Head Mistress. "No way for a young lady to behave" were her words. Most embarrassing to have to remove my uniform from my knickers with some kind of dignity! Another time I wanted to impress my new boss so insisted I carry the 'tea things' into the boardroom only to trip and fall flat on my face with the tea things strewn all over the boardroom floor! And yes yet another time as I danced the jive the lace hem of my very full lace petticoat became hooked on the buckle of a young man who danced away in the opposite direction and the lace unravelled. I had to roll it up and unhook the lace from the young man's buckle! At 17 years of age I can tell you it was embarrassing. But the worst moment has to be the day I forgot to put on my knickers! Ladies remember when we used to wear 'stepins' that gave us flat tummies and we hooked our stockings onto them? Well in a hurry to get to work I forgot to put my knickers on over the stepin. I discovered my mistake when I went to the loo. I can tell you I couldn't wait to get to the shops at lunch time. Fortunately skirts were longer in those days? I hope you will laugh along with me and maybe share an embarrassing moment too.

haha I remember the stepins. I forgot my knicker one day too. Didn't even realise til I was at work. Can't remember many embaressing moments though. I do remember a few years back was driving some friends around and I stopped at the roundabout, was there for a little while and got asked what are you waiting for and quick as a flash said for the lights to change,. That was so embaressing for me.
But of course we need those times so we can look back and laugh.
My son's embaressing moment still has us laughing. Me and my youngest son were in the front of the panelvan and the other son was in the back. travelling 100 klms down the freeway when the son in the back knocked on the side of the van, ,my youngest said quick Mum a hitchhiker wants a lift. I had to pull over as I was laughing so much.

Thanks for your reply - glad I amused you with the 'step-in' story! The hitch hiker gag is funny - kids do like to trick their parents.

I can appreciate your enbarrassment /embarrassment, I think you mean on all three occasions, Cat17. My most embarrassing moment was when I asked a friend of a friend, who appeared to be heavily pregnant, when her baby was due and she promptly told me she had the baby a month ago. Now I never ask, anyone whom I believe to be pregnant, when their baby is due, unless they acknowledge they're pregnant in the course of the conversation. Better to be sure than embarrassed.

I remember clearly one day at work...the computer system needed to be refreshed....I sang out at the top of my voice...(when there was a lull in the noise within the office) "when it's up I'm on!"

Hi Mika08, I agree about the once a month bloat, looks like we get preggy every month! Talking of men and 'beer barrel' tummy, my hubby has been 'preggy' for at least 40 years!!

Hi Ally, thanks for replying - sorry for mis-spelling? I was almost caught saying the same thing to a work colleague, but something stopped me from saying it - thank goodness.
Best wait for...

It's funny how as soon as we see a woman with a nice round tummy that question is always at the tip of our tongue. Be safe and just say nothing at all. I know at certain times of the month I could pass for being in the early stages of pregnancy but thank god no one has said anything .... I think if they did I wouldn't eat for a week! It's not fair a man can have a huge beer belly without that assumption.

Best wait for someone to say they are in the family way than to suggest that is the reason they are overweight!
