Freedom of speech applies . If people find a book offensive they simply shouldn't read it . Its in everyones best interest to have an opinion and if they don't it doesn't mean there not thinking it . I certainly am not sorry for any of my thoughts as i cannot help what i think . Nothing bad can come from you putting your book on the internet , its an excellent tool and you will get your message across .

Hi
I'm currently writing 3 books. I've been researching publishers online. One of the books is a bit contraversial.

I find it lovely to go on net and have your say. i love to read e books are good I read from laptop. Then my opinions of things to be read. My love for music of many types widens the variety of thought. The movies are a big range from romance to murders and horse ones documentaries of New Zealand etc.

This country is known for its acceptance and respect for freedom of speech, there is nothing at all that gives whoever banned them the right to do that... The internet is opening up a new world of free speech and thought, not to mention endless possibilities.

What I would like to know, and i'm sure you would too, is WHO decides what is and what isn't politically correct? If we look back many things were more accepted than they are now. Your right to freedom of expression should not be governed by a "Fad" forced on us by the often faceless beurecrats. Religion and Politics should not impeed our freedom of expression! If you publish on the web please let me know and I will ensure that your stories get out to millions!!!

maybe I am missing something here, but was Orwells book 1984 banned? The idea of thinking for yourself is discouraged from an early age, and further so, when school becomes the mentor. Conformity is the bane, for some thinking adults, but is the substance for a structured 1st World Country. The 60's were a rebellion against the 50's '' Pleasantville '' morals, and unspoken angsts, decades of reactive thinking and action later, we now partisipate in an almost insidious way, in our eras' Nanny Mentality. I don't know your books or stories, or why these have been banned, but I would like to know more.

go ahead and get your books published independently. make a note on the rear of the books as to what the content is then if people think they would be offended then they shouldnt read them. we need books and forums which challenge our thinking

long time in replying. But keep on trying to find sites for me. To discuss beliefs and changes there need to be! I totatally agree with you. We live in a time when old lawas etc are antiquated and need to be updated. Talk about topics that are laid. under the carpet to rock the boat people are afraid!!!
I am very much into laws and suport relating to child abuse, pornograhy and rape. Too many people in high places involved so silence too hard to break. I am a survivor and also have worked with out of home youth for number of years. So feel I know what I am talking about, but for chage to occur multitudes are needed so they have the power to change bliss

whats politically correct .....is it politic correct to involve us in wars we have nothing to do with
is it politically correct ....that we have plenty food in this world enough to feed all of humanity and more .....yet over 20% of the world still starves
is it politically correct to sit back and let genocide continue .....child abuse
is it politically correct to sit back in our chair and watch the world self destruct around us
but they believe its politically correct to to denounce a writer .....and not allow publishing his voice ...his art form ......go figure that one

Hi lel14, it seems there is no balance in the justice in this world. Too many people worried about what the effect of public opinion will have on the $! Rather we should be able to express our selves, in particular, our art form, whatever that form should take. Even the Net is hampered in this,[gmail, banned in Iran at the moment ]..... cheers Simla

many publishers have found my works funny and sad,but unprintable because of the high frequency of ethnic groups,if i mention the holocaust it offends the muslems,if i dont it offends jewish groups,i just needed a world war two aircraft carrier as its part of a ghost fleet,as i pointed out to the tribunal if i went to the muslem or jewish groups and told them i find their works offensive,i would be called a racist, their groups are given far too much power.soon i will have a short story on the web & let the people judge me.

I agree, with this but I have to wonder what your writing that can be considered 'politically incorrect'... these days publishing companies are looking for stories that are provocative in some form.

Just hear today there's a free Apple app. iBook Author - think that's the title - software for potential authors to publish. I'm just going to check it out.

Yes Trushka, it's the correct name/Title ' (SCOTUTOR for iBook Author) - and It costs $6.49 -:)

Thanks for that DFP. I found iBooks Author and downloaded it - free - but it seems to be very limited and not all that user friendly. Looks like the SCUTUTOR app is needed as well.

Political correctness is a crock. Self publish & be done with it. There is a market for uncensored books.
