My landlords cat has only just started to get used to me & started to approach me. I made a feather toy for him to play with using feathers from a dollar store & twigs from the garden tlast week & he loves it more than the ball that my landlord got him.

kongs are great. but you have to teach your dog how to play with them 1st..put small treats inside so they are easy to get out and make it harder as they get use to the kongs', they have a guarantee that they can not be destroyed. I have German shepherds and the only thing they do is lose them in the garden ., but they eventually get found. they go nuts when I say want a kong

On hot days I make freeze blocks for my dogs. That keeps them entertained for ages! I just take an empty ice cream tub (or similar), fill it with some dog biscuits and then pour in some watered down beef stock before sticking it in the freezer.

I googled 'dog biscuits' just out of curiosity and found a lot of recipes there which you might like to try.

hi there. i had a destructive, hyeractive.red heeler who chewed everything till she was about 4 years old, finally got some relief by buying a rubber conche,[is that how you spell it] tis a thick indestructable rubber thing with a hole in it that u fill up with tasty treats like bacon rind, cheese, liver, cat biscuits and some tasty gravy,or liquid to hold it together when u freeze it. It will take the boredom out of the day, and keep the dog busy for hours, trying to get the tasty stuff out .cheers, Simla.

I've tried giving them toys but they either ignore them or run away!

my Amie won't play with toys at home but at my sisters place you can't get them off her - sounds like the typically 'only at Grandma's place' story
