Hi flower, have you become an Australian citizen?
If you can do that it may open an option to receive the aged pension.
Aged pensioners can also live in NZ and still receive the Australian Aged
pension, so i believe.
If it's the Australian Disability Pension, you can visit and stay for 3 months in NZ and still receive the Australian Disability Pension.
Have a look at dual Citizenship. Maybe you can have the best of both worlds?

I think it is pretty sad for our pensioners. It's not like the pension is ever going to make up for the hard work and tax paid over the long periods of time for those who have worked hard all their lives. The pension rates much like the benefits, are not sufficient enough to live on with the rising costs of living. That keeps rising but the benefits and pensions do not match the increases of costs and people are getting very desperate and even worse, leaving NZ by the dozens to work overseas and then the Government scratches it's head and has the audacity to ask why??? Why not when our workers are much more appreciated and paid more there. Go figure!!!

Help Caféstudy members by responding to their questions, or ask your own in Café Chat, and you will get the chance of earning extra rewards. Caféstudy will match these and donate equally to our two chosen Australian charities.
