I collapsed at work and was rushed off to hospital and was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor they said it was in a good spot to operate on and looked to be low grade so I had the operation and came out of it as per normal but when they tested the Tumor it came back as type 3/4 the worst kind you can get so I undergo heaps of Radiotherapy but listening to older people wingeing and moaning how unfair life is I promptly tell them to shut up as you have lived your life what about the children in the next room now thats unfair, now 12 months later I collapse having a Grand Mal Seizure when I come to I'm paralized down my left side and as you guessed it there is another tumor but this time it's in a spot where they cannot opperate so more Radiotherapy, Tablet Chemotherapy followed by IV Chemo therapy then they said they have done all they could do and in August 2007 they gave me 6-12 months to live, the wife says I'm too stuborn to die but then again I am a Taurus NEVER GIVE UP I'm certain it's my attitude to life that keeps me going, my logic is that if you can't find something good from a bad situation then you arn't trying hard enough

I am a breast cancer survivor (9 years). Gade 3, so went through 6 months of chemo and radio treatment. I have since been overseas with dragon boating for our local 'survivors' club and we have been world champions! Keep all thoughts positive and find your biggest motivation to survive. Mine was my children, one was only 3 yrsold and the other was 9 months old. I knew they were not ready to be without a mother!

my thought - The cancer picked the wrong body when it decided to live in mine, it hasn't found a place in yours either!

My daughter is disabled and was diagnosed with cancer just before she turned two, her surgeon didn't believe he could save her, she has just had her 18th birthday, keep fighting and don't give in, the most powerful drug when it comes to defeating cancer is guts and determination. I am very proud of my daughter for fighting so hard, and I'm sure youre wife is proud of you, don't give up! FIGHT!

Hi again, you sure got a fighting spirit and just gets on with life. I admire you and your gumption to not let the C ruin every part of your life. Your family must be very proud of you. Perth is my favourite city - my daughter and family live there. They love it and have no intention of returning east.
Go look at the Indian ocean on the days that are hard to deal with - I think it is magical!

Hey enjoy a curry with saffron rice down by the sea! Sounds a very good arrangement to me. I have read pommegrante juice is good - Russian made juice is best I think - exspensive though. My local green grocer used to sell it - not sure if they do now. I tried it it was delicious.

Keep up your "NEVER GIVE UP" attitude, positive thoughts and attitude will sure help you cope with this. Though the final results may not be the best at least you have not given up and fought the good fight. I wish you the very best and pray you and your family.

My friends 3 year old grandson is now in remission after fighting 12 tumors in his body. He fought like a little soldier and even though so young said to his YaYa(grandmother) I'm ok. God bless the fighters who dont give up!

Hey Petrolhead heard someting very interesting today on the TV program Dr. Oz - do you watch it? Anyway he was talking about remedies for various ailments and what to use from nature. Well my ears pricked up when he said that saffron has great results in destroying cancer cells! Apparently the saffron literally attacks the cells and destroys it from the inside. You could do some research yourself Dr Oz has a website (American) and sure worth a look. I have found him very interesting and certainly not a quack. Keep on fighting.

CAT17 with Brain Tumors your own body forms a "blood barrier"around the tumor preventing treatments from working dammed if you do dammed if you don't

Hi again Petrolhead strange how your own body protects the invader. Is there no way brain surgery could be performed? Doctor Charlie Teo in Sydney Australia has performed surgery on "hopeless" cases which other doctors won't touch and has wonderful results. If you are in Australia could you get to see him?
