I have had both HTC Desire HD and Samsung III in terms of smart phones. I agree in that Samsung III or any Samsung (or indeed Android phone) is superior to iPhone which is way overated, overpriced and marketing ingeniously, the main reason for its huge success until a year ago. Now Samsung III leads the global smart phone market NOT Apple and other contentenders are now HTC and look out for Nokia (with Lumina models running on Windows) and even Blackberry with its first smart phone now launched. I would steer away from Apple since technically and creatively it is not superior, it was a very good marketing fad. You can customise so much more on an Android phone, most apps are free, it does a lot more push features updating you in real time and also the definition and flash capability of gaming is superior. They also look more aesthetic, more curved and I love the white Samsung plastic look, iPhones now look so boring and conservative since for a time so many people had them. Last but not least Android phones and tablets are in fact much cheaper than iPhones and iPads

I agree that Samsung Galaxy's are best. I have s2 phone and the galaxy note 10.1 tablet. I can do much more with both the phone and the tablet than my friends can do on the ipads and iphones. My only problem is my mobile is a lemon. It stops charging the battery for no reason, and when it does have power the screen frequently freezer. Does any one else have these problems. Mine has been back 6 times for repairs but within a week is back to its old trick. Like others have already mentioned it is also heavy on battery usage. Does the s111, or note phones have similar problems.?. I appreciate any comments or feedback.

I believe galaxy s2 is really nice, even I am using an Iphone ha
but Iphone just easy to make people addict to it :(
I used Nokia, Sony, Samsung, HTC, Blackberry and until now Iphone.
If make me choose, Nokia will be the best black and white mobile and IPhone will be the best smart phone.
Speak from the price, Samsung or HTC usually promote a new mobile and setup high price but drop quickly when next new model comes out. That's the reason why I don't choose Samsung or HTC.
Even I born in Taiwan, but HTC still a bit expensive for students so I choose Iphone at least I can sell it after the new generation comes.
ha, just my opinion.

so what is everyone's general verdict is the Samsung better than the Iphone or vice versa - my contract expires very soon, and am now starting to research between these two phones (I used to be a staunch supporter of Nokia, however my current Nokia smartphone is the worst one I have ever had).

I have the same mob, newest one ,plus firmware ,takes good pic and HD Vids.
Only faults is slow when booting putting passwords in.Seems to have a delay!
Other thing is have to have data turned on to get pics from ppl, plus if you send a long message it will not send unless data on.So have to do all again with data on.
The Battery goes down fast as well. But all said I rather My Samsung Galaxy S2 over a iphone. As new firmware updated I hope it gets faster and uses less power.
