I wished people who choose to come to this country remind themselves what attracted them here & not try & make it what they are running away from!

Yes I always check labels & buy australian along with free range eggs etc, it's crazy to think that we cannot support local business. I think it seems very expensive because we are comparing to some really cheap prices from overseas, but I think huge supermarkets who buy complete crops at a time should pay farmers fairly & charge customers fairly, I hear they pay nothing to our farmers but charge retail for apples $6 per kg, crazy at their bulk but capacity we should be buying them retail at $2per kg & shareholders still making a profit!

As water restrictions have prevented viable growing of fruit and vegetables in large areas of Aust. -- especially NSW, Vic and SA we all need to grow some of our own - even if just some that are suitable to grow in pots that will otherwise be imported. Some small vegies and herbs can be grown amongst your flowers and shrubs. e.g. carrots and the onion family. It is shocking the wide variety of vegetables that are actually imported that could easily be grown in Aust.

people struggle to go past imported products when the price is low compared to aussie made. if we refuse to put these products on the shelves then we will feel fine paying aussies for products made here. cheap products from o/s are inferior and do not meet our standards.. i love to buy from my local foodland which stocks local and australian made products, i also purchase fruit and veg from the local fruit and vegetable garden and buy australian made high quality food for my pets. Nutro pet food is great by the way

The boat people will be mentioned here i`m sure.If this subject is about loving our country,I must say the europeans who arrived in Oz after the WWII have been the best possible example of Oz patriotism.I married into one of these families when "wog" was a common name. These people were very poor, but not much time passed before they were all employed and living in their own homes.I,an ozzie, looked at the Australians, there strikes, holidays, sickies etc.and doubly respected the in-laws.BUT don`t ask me about the present day refugees, that`s another story.
Obviously,i hope, what i`m saying is,a lot of changes need to be made asap to
save our country going down the gurgler. The farmers need help, this translates
to Australia needs help, this translates to our "leaders" giving help to Australians
and Australia only.

I think you have come to the point now, but structuring building and sharing business is also in one way good for the development of the country. There is one important point that we should concentrate much where the economy of the country is concerned. We should always try to save our money instead of selling. I have been repeatedly saying that every citizen should concentrate in promoting someway to save the economy. This idea in one way reduce burrowing foreign aide.We should not go to the extent of "Putting the Cart before the Horse"

As a faithful citizen of Australia first think about the freedom given to the Australian Citizens. As a Australian Citizen I will do whatever possible to develop my country rather than thinking about the other countries. See that your country is well developed and do whatever you can for the other countries. I recently mentioned to Rachel about Malaysia which was at one stage almost grounded
What happened there, the people were United and developed the country in
every respect - such as Food,Harvest their produce and weave their own Material
and Clothes. They concentrated much on their own products. It is true Australia
has advanced in selling Technology,Research and Education.

I think it is becoming 'Ask not what the world can do for you. Ask what you can do for the world.'
Most of us reap the benefit, even when not all of us may do.
This goes for Australia as well as any other country.
Do we, or can we all grow our own food, harvest our own cotton, weave our own material and make our own clothers......?
If one country got the resources and able to manufacture cheaper than Australia, why should Australia import the resources for manufacturing to make it dearer for Australians?
Australia may be better in selling technology, research or education to the world?

if I "do" for my country, will the goverment give away overseas, or will we really benefit? If they can't lower our prices then pay the disadvantaged overseas workers more. That would help their lives and make local pricing more competitive.

I am unable to understand what you are talking about. The country expects each and every citizen to work unitedly for the economy growth and stability. Not only in Australia any country it is essential at times to get expert consultation or work force from another country. It does not mean they are paying for nothing. Do not
be selfish. As a citizen it is your duty to ask yourself what you can do to work for the economy growth of the country and then submit your demands to the government in power. Hope I have satisfied you as much as I could. Anxious to meet you again on some other subject.

I believe we are all doing our bit by respecting and acceptingeach other, no matter what colour, religion, sex or race and obeying Australian Law. These things are of course what make Australia the safe, multicultural society we know and live in!

Yes you are right but you have to remember we have to sacrifice a bit because no one lives forever and we must win the people for the country and not the country thats why we have to look after each other when it comes to money because money is only paper
and it can take away ouir stengths and our capabilities of doing things

Yes you are right but believe it or not if we dont respect the laws of a country we can have our values of hope, integrity, socialising, marketing ruined by not

Excellent, you have come to the point. I am certain that this unity will continue
as Australian Citizens and face a war if and when declared. When we are at a war we cannot think of each others culture. If there is a war certainley it will affect the economy growth and stability of the entire world. Hope we understand each other and concentrate on some other discussion.

YEs I agree, but by accepting and respecting each other, we are all working together, UNITED if you like, which can only strengthen our nation and economy! If our country is at the stage of virtual civil war because we all can't get along and respect each others culture this would most certainly be the end of any economic growth or stability we have as a country!

absolutely, Australia will die unless we stop buying cans of food & everything else made overseas

You are so correct! Such items that are imported are produced to the same standard as required by our nanny governments, with the government not taking the necessary inspections of imported foodstuffs. I realise that by making such a claim some will consider my statements as being racist, but please bear in mind I am referring to the quality of the food allowed into this country from nations that do not have the same strict regime of controls over the actual processing plants.
