With almost daily reports on either obesity amongst children or binge drinking I am wondering how we tell tv show writers to come up with some new scenarios to help fight the problem. I enjoy watching tv shows made both in Australia and overseas and am amazed at how the following two scenarios appear regularly -
after a hard day's work at the hospital, rescuing,in the office, solving crime etc what do the characters generally do - they head off to the pub for a few drinks after work to "wind down". Instead couldn't they talk the dog for a walk, take the kids to the park, walk along th beach, anything else but drinking!! The second scenario - especially in family shows they always seem to go out for PIZZA. I have nothing against pizza and my children have it as a treat (although generally we make our own at home). Couldn't they pack a picnic and take it to the park or the beach then discuss the problems, or every now and then pick up a piece of fruit as they are walking out the door.

Wow, a month nearly elapsed with no response. It's not too encouraging, is it?! Don't be alarmed, there are millions sharing your concerns but we merely don't buy into the scenarios, see them as they are & feel amused that writers actually are paid by pizza companies, breweries, restaurants, pubs, clubs, insurance companies to keep people obese, drunk & distracted. By the way, to 'boycott' & feel really good about myself, while saving a fortune, staying fit & still enjoying life on TV, I never frequent pubs, clubs, restaurants, or pizza joints! I drink like a fish the best & least expensive premium European Beers, cook my own french fries, pizzas, steaks, chillis, fish, roasts, meat pies, breads & know it's 90% better, 90%cheaper, 90%healthier & 700% smarter! [try pizzatherapy.com ] I do admit, I could loose 15 lbs but it's a far cry from obesity! Oh yeah, & now I'm goin outside for a smoke! Shame on us all!
